Booked table on line, very busy, offered a table only half hour after our requested time. Warm welcome, super surrounds, excellent table. The Sunday lunch menu catered for meat, fish and vegetarian eaters. I had pork belly, my partner the roast beef. Both served with Yorkshire pudding, roast veg and potatoes plus a dish of other new potatoes and vegetables All...

This place was recommended by our hosts (Pat & Martin) at Willow House in Rufforth, who also booked it for us. We were not disappointed, the food was great as was the service, this is truly a great place to eat and drink, I would definitely recommend this place if you are staying in the area.

Made a purposeful 40 mile trip from the coast to sample lunch before heading to York for some retail therapy. The choice of eating establishment chosen from a search on tripadvisor and reading other positive reviews. You wouldn't just stumble across this little pub as it is off the beaten track in a quaint little village, the exterior of the...

Just driving by and noticed the sign on the road. Took a chance and drove a few hundred yards to this village pub. What a fine! We were looking for a place to have Sunday roast and we found a great one. We had a sharing mix of meats and the food was plentiful and tasty. The pork belly was...

We only stopped at the pub for lunch but found Chequers Inn virtually by accident, but so glad we did! It was easy to find, plenty of parking and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic lunch - generous portions and all very tasty. (I had a prawn sandwich to die for, and my husband felt...

The website describes the room as a Delux Double en-suite. Unfortunately, The Chequers Inn interpretation of deluxe is very different from ours. If you choose the deluxe option Room 1 is a lot bigger than Room 2 (and you pay the same price, but I cannot comment on the positives or negatives of room 1 as we did not stay...

A very nice pub with good service , nice welcoming staff and reasonable if not slightly over priced food. There was a good range of choice on the menu . Parking is very good and in a lovely village setting.

We stayed Saturday night with four friends to celebrate my husbands birthday. Fantastic stay, food was outstanding, rooms brilliant and all staff were brilliant. Will definitely be going back, strongly recommend either just for a meal or a brilliant weekend or longer stay.

Not a very well posted location, not shown on some maps. Attractive building with good parking. Pleasant reception/ bar area. Well furnished, and appointed restaurant. The chief boasts probably the best pies in the north, and he is probable right.

We 'Googled' a good place to eat whilst staying at the Days Inn, Wetherby and decided upon the Chequers. We had been outside orienteering and were very hungry! I called about 5pm to book a table and was informed that we could be seated about 7.15 – implying that the Inn was very busy. A short drive from the Days...
