Booked the borough arms for a buffet for all our family and friends after my dads funeral. The service we had was excellent. The staff couldn't do enough for us. The food was very good and plenty of tea and coffee which was served by two ladies. Would certainly recommend this hotel for such events. Room was set out lovely

I stayed in this hotel for one night in midweek. The hotel was clean and I found my room very comfortable, with a large bathroom that included a bath and shower. The reception staff were all very friendly and the breakfast was excellent value. I've never been called Duck so much in my life! I'd certainly stay here again

Stayed Saturday to Monday in a single and double room. Hotel is clean and warm but is a little tired in places. Some parts have new paint and carpeting though. Enormous full English breakfast was part of the deal, we paid under £225 for both rooms B&B. Bar is well stocked & does a range of bar meals. Not a...

Original arrangements made very easy by the organisers. Well set dining room, very clean, superb food, extremely attentive staff. Have been before and will definitely come again. Lovely to walk into reception and be addressed by your Christian name.

Stayed here for a family wedding. The facilities & food at the wedding itself were completely faultless. The room I stayed in was cosy & homely & comfortably spacious for a single. Great full English breakfast. The staff everywhere in the venue throughout the weekend were friendly & helpful. The bar had a delicious lunch menu - Staffordshire Oatcakes are...

We arranged our baby shower event at this hotel and all services were brilliant, far above our expectations. They provided a bespoke menu for us, which was very tasty, and accommodated everything we asked for. The staff were very nice and friendly especially General Manager Mr Sheikh who was overlooking the whole event and made sure everything went according to...

The people were friendly, the accommodations adequate without any frills. Restaurant and bar hours were a bit limited, but for a place to hang your hat while in the local area it is fine. There was the main section which I did not see too much of and the annex where I stayed.

Nice cosy atmosphere decorated with red roses, balloons and table trimmings certainly created a romantic setting. But it was the food that was outstanding. I had asparagus tips wrapped in parma ham with a soft boiled egg and hollandaise sauce followed by Garlic and Rosemary Lamb. It was the nicest lamb I had ever tasted. Lovely dinner and service all...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Borough Arms Hotel and Restaurant is one of the oldest established hotels in the Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stoke-on-Trent areas, with history dating back to 1783. The hotel is very much of the style associated with a traditional English town centre coaching inn, yet has been sensitively and subtly refined to offer the comfort and modern standards demanded by today's visitors. Independently owned and managed, the hotel retains many period features and takes great pride in offering a very personal service. As a valued guest, you may be confident that we will do our utmost to ensure your comfort, whether you are staying in one of our 40 centrally heated, en-suite rooms, visiting us for a meal in the restaurant, or using our conference and banqueting facilities. ... more   less
