The room was perfect for the occasion. From the initial booking to the event the staff were felicitous to every whim and professional on the actual day itself. The disco was also excellent playing music suitable to all ages of the party. Despite the fact that there was a wedding reception at the hotel on the same evening this did...

Well for £55 I was not expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised! I booked myself and my 5 year old son in for a night while visiting Stoke on Trent to see grandparents. We arrived at 8:15pm and were greeted by a very friendly receptionist and I felt very comfortable straightaway. The other lady got the full brunt of...

Wow, where do I start ... If you want to pay 50 quid to stay in an old run down house with musty carpet throughout and narrow, winding staircases that you have to carry your luggage through, then this place is for you! (Looking down some of the hallways literally reminded me of The Shining!) If you are handicapped, heavy-weight...

Bedroom needed updating, particularly the en-suite, but it was clean. The public areas were good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Any request was carried out efficiently, ironing board etc. We arrived on the Friday lunch for a wedding on the Saturday. We had lunch which was very good and the evening meal was excellent. The wedding venue...

There's little choice in town-if-say Travelodge is booked up.Stayed just the I night( a saturday). OK for the price.I had a single overlooking the main road but double glazing so little disturbance. The annexe to rear might be a better option though. Breakfast quite adequate. All in all- ok for the price/no problems.

My wife and I held our wedding reception in the King and Baker rooms in this hotel. The food which was served was absolutely faultless and many of our guests commented on its quality. We also stayed overnight in the hotel and were very pleased with the quality of the room and the breakfast the next morning. However the best...

Would only recommend this hotel as a very last resort. Badly in need of updating (mold around shower, tiles off wall in bathroom), everything very tired and shabby. Rooms really small (could only get out of one side of double bed which was pushed against the wall to fit in room) and noisy as on a busy road. Long narrow...

Very friendly and helpful staff, very good breakfast and bar meals and a decent pint too! The rooms can be variable, some look to have been refurbished recently, but generally comfy and clean - if you like it quiet then stay in the annexe as the A53 runs past the front rooms. Very convenient for Newcastle centre. I enjoyed my...

My Father passed away sadly last month, having contacted the Borough Arms regarding the wake following the funeral. From the very beginning the organisation was first class and importantly sympathetic, I was kept informed throughout by the Staff and Confirmation emails etc were sent almost immediately. On the day the staff were superb, the food was excellent, lots of compliments...

Me & my husband stayed at the Borough Arms Hotel while we got married there, some of are family stayed there to. The staff were brilliant, they took care of everything so that the day ran smoothly & they were more than happy to take care of everyone. The hotel is affordable, clean & has everything you need for a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Borough Arms Hotel and Restaurant is one of the oldest established hotels in the Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stoke-on-Trent areas, with history dating back to 1783. The hotel is very much of the style associated with a traditional English town centre coaching inn, yet has been sensitively and subtly refined to offer the comfort and modern standards demanded by today's visitors. Independently owned and managed, the hotel retains many period features and takes great pride in offering a very personal service. As a valued guest, you may be confident that we will do our utmost to ensure your comfort, whether you are staying in one of our 40 centrally heated, en-suite rooms, visiting us for a meal in the restaurant, or using our conference and banqueting facilities. ... more   less
