Positives The staff! Every single member of staff we came across could not help enough and were friendly. Never felt so welcome and received with such warmth thank you. Breakfast was brilliant, best hash browns I've ever tasted and lots of choice. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Negatives The only negative I would have really is that the outside of the hotel looks a bit tired. Also the rooms could do with a freshen up. To note We had food in the restaurant before bed, it was nice but a bit expensive for what it was. Also choice seems limited. I'd recommend the sandwiches as they are beasty and come with chips.

When we booked it quoted us a price of £306 for two rooms on two nights with breakfast included. When we got to the hotel on the Friday night I was really surprised to see that the man behind the counter was only charging me £162! I asked him if that was for both rooms for both nights and he said "yeah. I changed the price for you." I told him there was no need and I didn't want him to get in trouble, to which he replied "I'm not going to get in trouble. I do it all the time." I wasn't going to argue about such a good discount so I thanked him and we went to our room to put our stuff away. I just assumed he didn't charge us for the breakfasts or something to keep the price down. We were too late checking in on the first night to eat at their restaurant so we just went elsewhere for food. We had things to do all day Saturday so we skipped breakfast but we had dinner there on the night and we're horrified at the prices. £16 for Mac and cheese with garlic bread?! We ended up sharing a couple pizzas but our bill was still £85! Any way, come Sunday morning we go to reception to check out and ask about breakfast and a nice man named Prasad was there. I told him the room numbers and handed him the room keys and he said "I just need to charge you for the other half of your stay." To which I explained that we were charged the first night and he said that was for both nights and both rooms. I know Prasad was just doing his job so I paid the extra £144 pounds but why would the other guy do that? I didn't get his name unfortunately so I'll give a brief description. He was a short Asian man with glasses, messy black hair and a speech impediment. I'm not happy with that. Why not just charge us the full amount? What would have happened had I not known and just dropped my room keys on the counter and left? And I don't mean it funny but it is not clean or comfortable enough to be charging those prices. I get they have a gym and a pool as well, but you have too book in to the pool and the only time that were able to use it during our stay was at 7AM on the Sunday. About an hour in, they open it up to members that do swimming lessons and that so you feel uneasy playing around when they are teaching people to swim. The jacuzzi wasn't even open in the morning either so it's not like you can experience all of it anyway. Way to expensive for what you get. Oh and I forgot, we never got that breakfast on the Sunday either.

Due to a family emergency I was forced to pull of the M6 motorway on jct 15 to take a phone call. There is no where to park in the area so I pulled up at the holiday inn. I endured not to enter the car park, parked outside the hotel itself in the layby and took the call, approx 15mins. Two weeks later receive a £100 fine from parking eye. Tried to contact the hotel via phone on a few different occasions with no luck. After doing a bit of research it seems that I'm not the only person to fall victim to these aggressive money grabbers. Would not recommend this hotel as their lack of comms and advice is just very disappointing

Horrible hotel, room is disgusting. Room full of spider web, standing light no functioning, room security lock is broken, wall cracks, dirty and mould blanket, toilet handle broken and staff unhelpful very rude. Front office person call us at midnight 12am to ask about our complain, disturb my children rest. Duty manager (girl) try to twice and turn the statement, never show they going to take action after our complain. She do mention they are fully book, however we still can book the room thru their website. Really unacceptable this is show that this hotel is cheating customer cheating consumers. Unprofessional management. For the breakfast is no up to hygiene standards, no food tongs provided in pancake area. I saw their staff using her hand to refull the pancake at the buffer line. Coffee mechine is dirty and horrible, when they refull the milk i saw mould is around the container. The cheese is horrible and no fresh. First time in my life to stay at this Horrible hotel, Never came back.

Received a £60 parking fine for a 56 minute business meeting stay. After I had spent money on coffees. Won’t use this hotel again. Shame as I have used this hotel several times before due to its convenient location just off the M6. There has to be a better way of managing parking at this location.

Stayed here for son's graduation. Reception nice, dinner good, breakfast reasonable. Hotel room small. Main bug bear was access for disabled. My son rang and asked if bedrooms had level access, was told yes. We got there to find bedrooms are either up 8 stairs or down 8 stairs. No lift. Chair lift for disabled out of order. It was a good thing my husband took his walker and not mobility scooter as no way could he have got to the from, along a long corridor, and there was no way he could have got it in the room, or leave it in corridor. My son told them his dad was disabled. Plenty of parking, no charge if staying. Only 2 blue badge spaces. Very convenient for M6

Recently stopped for a couple of nights on business. Although dated, we found the hotel and staff to be more than adequate. Firstly the room although small, had everything you needed apart from the thermostat to turn the radiator off. My colleague had the same problem in his room. Air con is provided but not what I want all night. Again the small gym and pool were dated although more than enough for 2 nights. The breakfast was one of the standouts for this hotel and worth every penny. If you like your mushrooms, book in. Overall I would have rated this hotel a 3/5 but the staff in everywhere we used went out of their way to look after us. Special mention to Sarah on reception for finding my missing letter. I would definitely recommend

Nice hotel but red light problem to fix please… Nice hotel and great professional welcome from the team. Available water at the front desk too is a nice touch. Good looking restaurant and bar but I didn’t sample anything personally. Room was nice (see photos) and obviously recently renovated to a nice standard. The room was very, very clean too. Only only sore spot was the bright red blinking light which blinked every 15 seconds. Located right above the top of the bed, the sensor become somewhat of a slow torcher through the night keeping me up. Please fix this

Stayed here for 3 nights for family party and grew up in the area. First stay at this hotel and my overall view was that it is great value for money for a 3 star hotel. Some of the other reviews seem harsh. It is located conveniently off the motorway if your journey is further north/south. Convenient for Alton Towers. The hotel has lots of facilities for a 3 star premises such as the Pool, Sauna, small gym, Jacuzzi. Used all of these each day. Room had a double bed and double sofa bed which was handy. Bathroom and shower were modern. Breakfast was buffet style and plentiful. They kept everything topped up nicely and had a vast array of food. Hotel has a kids park/play area outside the front. Parking is plentiful. There is a nice bar area where you can sit and chill out and stays open for the residents quite late. Only minor criticisms were some of the carpets could do with a refresh and also the sound proofing wasn’t fantastic in the corridor areas. The wings are a bit 60s prefab style. At £79 per night on booking.com I couldn’t find much cheaper over half-term and very happy with the stay overall.
