We went to visit here a couple of years ago, looking on these terrible reviews I just wanted to share my experience too. Having stayed for the weekend in York which was fab,our next port of call was the beautiful lake district. I had booked this accommodation online months in advance and paid a £50 deposit. We arrived at Hawkrigg mid...

This was a last minute booking to find this gem in the Lake District. This is a Bed and Breakfast hotel with a few rooms. We requested a room with 2 bed and beds were comfortable and the room was good sized, didn't feel cramped. The bathroom was attached, small but had a good sized shower. The views were stunning...

What a fantastic location, set up high and fairly isolated with stunning views out over lake Windermere. Our room was a good size and clean and comfortable, but full of spiders, expected when in such a rural area, but not ideal for arachnaphobes! Basic toiletries provided, very friendly and helpful hosts,

We thoroughly enjoyed the tasty breakfast which set you up for the day ahead. Only minutes away from the ferry across to Bowness and Hawkshead and...

I would recommend this guest house to anybody! We had a wonderful stay here and would definitely return! The building overlooks Lake Windermere giving you gorgeous views every time you look out of your windows. These views alone make this guest house worth staying at! The room itself was perfect for what we needed. Wardrobe, drawers, bedside cabinets, TV and...
