My wife and I experienced our second visit to the Linthwaite, staying for 2 nights, last weekend, the week before Easter. We again went for a preferred room (No 6 this time) and again found everything to be exactly the same. Same welcome, same quality of room, same level of service, same afternoon tea, same food at dinner, same wine...

Genuinely friendly staff, wonderful food - the most delicious scones and home-made damson jam with afternoon tea. Lovely room (with resident duck in the pond outside the window). Perfect location. Very hard to fault. Almost wished we'd been snowed in! Will definitely be returning.

Thanks for the riding recommendation. We can recommend but it always sounds better coming from someone who has experienced it. Thanks too for the great review. We like to be compared favourably to our friends' hotels in the area, even more so when we come out favourably. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon, and hopefully I'll meet...

We stayed for 2 nights for our 30th wedding anniversary, our room was room 30. We were welcomed by what I can only describe as "wonderful attentive staff".We were a little early, as we wanted to enjoy lunch before going to our room, and sat in front of the log fire, 2 hours later we were nicely chilled ( well...

Fantastic! 100 reviews; I hope Trip Advisor give you a star. Well I am the co-owner and I know what you mean about the settee. We actually do have planning permission for an enlarged conservatory but we need to save up to pay for it. Anyway, I am delighted you enjoyed your stay, and you're possibly right about that view...

It is dangerous going back to a place or experience in the hope that it will be as good second time round. Our return to Linthwaite House did not disappoint in any way. Staff for whom nothing was too much trouble, great comfort and wonderful food. The March snow made things look even better than last time. Here's to the...

Had Sunday lunch here at Linthwaite House Hotel. We had stayed here many years ago and it was lovely to come back again. We had a delicious lunch and could not fault the food. Very good value as well. Perfect in every way.

It's hard to define what makes a hotel move up a notch from good to outstanding. Linthwaite is without doubt a good hotel - fantastic location, good food, lovely staff - and yet.....for me it didn't quite live up to expectation. Perhaps it was the room, which had a slightly corporate feel - you get the impression all the rooms...

This is a wonderful place - great food, superb staff and extraordinary views across Windermere. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and I can honestly say that I have never stayed anywhere which looked after me and mine better!
