Enjoyed it so much in November. So have rebooked for Monday. Staff very cheerful and attentive. Rooms more basic than expected and would benefit greatly from some ambient lighting. Enjoyed the buffet breakfast but different quality each morning. But good overall.

Was really impressed with this hotel. Lucky enough to get our room early and it was really nice- brand new bedding, spotless room, robes, Elemis toiletries, slippers and tea and coffee. The website photos do not do it justice- everywhere looked as if it had been completely refurbished. Great location for Bowness- minutes away. Only negative is that residents have to pay £12 per day for parking.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous, I would highly recommend staying here. It is in a great location to Bowness, only a few minutes walk. The spa was amazing. The staff are extremely helpful. The whole place was great. Our room with a hot tub on the balcony was just fabulous.

We was greeted by the lovely shaun on arrival, he was so friendly/helpful and welcoming, he showed us round and made us feel at home, our room was amazing and the food was unreal in the restaurant, restaurant manager was a little rude, but wont be negative as our experience in the spa and our hot tub made up for it … definitely be back….

Everything was nice kind of. We had an apartment with a kitchen which meant we could cook our own dinner and enjoy a drink in the lounge area. The whole apartment was really clean and well stocked. The reception staff and concierge were friendly and happy to help. They charge the £50 holding fee which is fine and refund it back, if you go to the bar during your stay you can get your drinks paid for from the £50 which is quite a good way of doing it. The bed was really comfy as were the dressing gowns they provide. My only issue was I could hear the next door apartment through the wall being really loud late at night, I did shout ‘shut up’ and it seemed to stop but i did put in ear plugs but was just annoying. Didn’t want to have to call the reception but just bare in mind the walls are quite thin. The spa was lovely, really clean. We went in the evening and it was couples in there, some were a bit annoying when you’re trying to relax but did my best to see the positive side. The bar staff were really friendly. We went the next morning to the spa again and was lots of children there so I definitely recommend going in the evening if you want it to be more adults. Only issue with our stay is that the hotel wanted to charge £12.50 or £12 for parking for one night. I want to know who is coming to the lakes for a spa break by bus ? Everyone will be driving up so how can they charge?! My partner just parked the car on the road outside the hotel for free after the concierge said ‘good luck finding anywhere’! So easy to just park outside. Other than that was a lovely break. I agree about the ‘chavvy guests’ comment too, not sure why but the spa in the evening seemed to attract certain types of people- we just ignored them and had a good time but probably won’t stay in the hotel again as it’s not our sort of people really.
