We booked this hotel as a last minute weekend away so didn't have a huge choice of rooms. Our room was in one of the older buildings but the hotel does have a choice of almost self contained bedroom chalets which are apparently very popular. We were met by a very courteous receptionist and shown to our room rather than given...

My husband and I have stayed at Burn How several times as it's perfect for our needs. My husband is disabled and in a wheelchair so the adapted Rose Garden room is just what we were looking for. A large room to accommodate his wheelchair and an adapted bathroom with wet room area. The staff at Burn How are exceptionally...

the hotel is very clean some of the units were being updated during our stay. Love the idea that you can have separate units overlooking different areas of the garden. We did find Bowness to be quite an expensive place, a trip on the ferries did not have concessions but there are plenty of buses which are quite reasonable to...

This was our first Family trip to the Lake district, so Bowness was a superb first base for us to explore Windermere and the southern lakes. I wanted a family room for te 4 of us, even though my 2 boys are teenagers now, its just easier to organise them! I was thoroughly pleased with the chalet style rooms in...

Stayed here for 3 nights. Positives are that it is in a great location for walking into Bowness within 2 minutes. Our room was very average and a little tired but as we didn't spend that much time in the room we weren't too fussed, the ensuite/bathroom was more modern and clean. Breakfasts are very nice and staff were all...

We stayed in two of the rose garden rooms which were both on the ground floor & next to each other which was essential as we had our two disabled children with us. We could have had wet rooms but elected not to as we felt for a short stay it was not necessary. The rooms were both lovely with...

We have just returned from 2 nights at the Burn How on a bed & breakfast basis. We would like to commend all the staff who were very attentive and really could not have been nicer. We had our evening meal in the restaurant both nights which was very good. The menu was varied and we had no problem choosing...

Thank you for your review of your stay. It is important to you and us that we have as much detail when you do a booking on a third party web-site to what your needs are, as we try our best to allocate rooms accordingly. If on arrival you had explained that you were going to struggle with the room...

Excellent position within walking distance of Bowness, room, staff and breakfast excellent. However property could do with a lick of paint and asked for room service one night and was advised could not have room service after 6.30 p.m., no bottles of water in room. Overall very good

We stayed here for a week. This is a lovely hotel with beautiful gardens. First appearance was deceptive as outside of property could do with a paint. However the room we had was very good. The breakfasts and evening meals could not have been better. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return.

I got a nice welcome the staff were helpful the room comfortable and the breakfast was very nice with a decent selection and fresh fruit. The eggs benedict was very good.
