My girlfriend booked this B&B for my birthday last year, only a few days beforehand. We requested a lake view room which was politely fulfilled, the window was shoulder height when standing and looked out over sections of Lake Windermere & the local town.
We came upon Oakbank House, when we arrived in Windermere. Preferring to wing it, we hadn't pre booked and felt lucky to be given a lovely, clean, comfy room for our overnight stay. Brekkie the next morning was generous and yummy and set us up...More

How can you print such misleading information about me. You know, as well as I do that I did not use abusive and foul language, just describing your breakfast as it was. I certainly did not upset other guests as our conversation took place outside of the dining room. You have been far too economical with the truth as to what really happened and because you never bothered to,even address the real concerns that I had expressed says it all. Good luck to,all your guests that stay there.

I find your attitude amazing. You clearly believe that your choice of words were not abusive or offensive and you fail to understand that it is not what you think that determines that but what others who heard you think. Guests around you were offended by your behaviour and complained to my staff. Your language was both rude and offensive. Not all of your comments were made outside the breakfast room and your abusive comments were made in reception whilst other guests were present.
You know what happened and it is not me who is being economical with the truth. You advised my waitress that you were not staying a second night before you even spoke to me so your comment that it was my attitude that made made you leave early is clearly untrue. I addressed your complaint that the bacon was too well done by cooking your breakfast again only for you to complain that the second serving was under done. When I asked you how you wanted it cooked? You couldn't say. Your husband then mumbled somewhere in between!! I would remind you 22 other people enjoyed breakfast that day and I apologise for the disappointment you felt. However, the manner and language you used to express yourself was rude and abusive and I do not have to tolerate that. Your comments about the lake view are ridiculous as anybody who stays in Room 5 would agree. Your complaint that you couldn't see the lake from the doorway into the bedroom is ludicrous. A lake view room does not mean you can see the lake from every conceivable angle in the room.
I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay and I wish all the best on your future travels.

"The lake view rooms are a must if available. We were in Room 4."
