Originally we were in a room which had a light hanging off the wall, we informed the bar staff who quickly informed the manager and with out any problem they upgraded our room to a suite. This room was lovely with a 4 poster bed and sofa with a newly refurbished bathroom. The bar staff were helpful and very attentive,...

First of all when we arrived check in was a little table and a man with a clipboard, but that took forever. We just dropped our bags off and went out. When we returned at 12am, we couldn't get asleep until at least 2am or later because of the nightclub downstairs which shuts at 2am then everyone was outside our...

on first impressions when collecting the key from the bar was it was very dull and full of mainly men drinking. However the welcome from the manager was warm the room overlooking the church was basic but clean and had coffee making facilities. Didn't fancy eating dinner there so opted to visit a new thai restaurant on the hill which...

Spent one Sunday night in The Windermere Suite. Lovely huge shabby chic room with 4 poster bed and area with settee and chair, coffee table to relax watching TV which is on wall bracket which swivels so you can watch from the bed. Lovely huge windows with views over church and Bowness. Not for people with mobility issues as rooms...

I was having my night out after work with my friends on 24th June when we decided to pop to Stags downstairs. The atmosphere was excellent, as ever, however this time something disturbing happened. I went to the bar downstairs on our arrival and wanted to order couple of drinks for my friends. As I approached the bar a petit, ponytailed black haired barmaid asked my what I was after. I said my order and then other of my friends joined as. I moved about 2 meters towards just to ask what did he want to drink which took me literally couple of seconds. When I turned back to the bar reaction of barmaid was at least shocking. She shouted at me never ever to leave the bar whilst ordering drinks. I tried to explain one more of my mates had just turned up, but then she interrupted me shouting even louder and pointing her finger straight to my face 'No, Listen! You have to stay here! ...etc...'. I've been frequent customer of Stags Heads for the last more than 10 years and nothing like that that had happened to me yet. Last week when we returned to the same bar with my other mate situation wasn't much better. We've been waiting on the bar to be serviced for about 20 minutes (!). People who came much after us were serviced whilst we were completely ignored. At this point big credit for not too tall barman with black short hair and beard. Only he turned up he serviced me instantly. Two other barmen turned out to be complete ignorant even thou I was trying to talk to them several times before the other, nice barman turned up. I'd like to ask a question if that is a usual routine of treating guests unpleasantly for some time? If yes, thank you for letting me know it, so me and my friends will choose other location for our following night out. Thank you.
