Very handy for the station, quiet room, comfy bed and good facilities. Had to be away very early for the train, so owners kindly ensured provision of cereal, fresh milk, juice in my room (handy and very quiet fridge) , and plenty of toast from the toaster on the landing for me to start my day off well. Ideal! And...

The Impressive building that is Barrie House just gets better and better. It combines the best of both period features and all the comfort of modern conveniences. The beds are spacious and very comfortable. The rooms are bright, airy and well furnished. This guest house has a lovely homely feel to it and this is mirrored in the warm and...

The location is excellent, just outside of the town centre. The owners, Pam & Steve, (really friendly) have done all the rooms in individual themes. All TV's are flat screen and the rooms have a modern air to them and they are spacious rooms. For the price and visiting the lake district this was great value for money!

Just spent three weeks at Barrie house whilst working at BAE. A great B&B that's very comfortable.A nice area to sit outside for a smoke or a drink that is covered in case it rains. Which unfortunately is quite regular in Barrow. Can't recommend this place high enough. The owners are really friendly. The breakfast arrangement is a 'Do it...

Recently spent two weeks in Barrie House whilst on business in the area. Not all rooms are ensuite but all are equipped a wash hand basin, fridge, kettle and cereals and breads for breakfast. Situated 5mins drive/ 25mins walk from the BAE dockyard makes it ideal for travelling contractors. Would happily recommend it and will be staying there on future...

I've stayed here twice and the building is easy to find the proprietors, Pam and Steve, are a friendly couple and very welcoming. Although it was very cold out on both my trips, my room was warm and comfortable. (In fact, on one occasion, I turned the radiator down). I had no problem parking. You get a great breakfast too.

Warm and welcoming B&B, very friendly owners. Chosen for Tripadvisor reviews, great location for railway station and town centre- very easy to find. Breakfast was very good with cereals and the good old full English which went down a treat. Highly recommended, would stay again!!

Booked a single room for four nights which wasn't at all expensive and found myself upstairs in a huge room with a very comfortable double bed. It was modestly furnished and it was more like living in a small house rather than just a room. There was a desk (or small table) and chair and a big window which let...
