Me and my partner stopped off here a couple of weeks ago (Sat 29th October), just for one nights stay. I dragged my partner up to Sunderland to watch my beloved Arsenal play and to return the favour I booked up this cute little guest house and done some site seeing/shopping whilst we was up there. We travelled straight from... More

I am pleased you enjoyed your stay and I am sorry you found the stairs up to the second floor a bit awkward. The stairs are a 'winding' staircase, not uncommon in Victorian houses, and not as wide as the main staircase up to the first floor. Whilst I have a double and two twin rooms on the first floor,... I recently visited Durham and had a lovely stay at Moore end. The room was a nice size, nicely decorated, had everything I needed and was very clean. The host was a very nice and cooked me three lovely breakfasts. I recommend this place

Thank you for your kind review and your recommendation for Moor End Guest House. I am pleased everything was satisfactory for you. I would note that the three breakfasts were actually for you, your partner and your son. I believe it would be a struggle to eat all three breakfasts yourself, as lovely as they are. More

My husband and I stayed for one night in Room 4 - a very spacious double room in converted attic space, with lots of lovely touches - a settee next to flat screen tv, towels with chocolates on the bed when we arrived, kettle, tea/coffee, biscuits, mints, pen, paper, some toiletries and a folder of house information and tourist information... Easy to find and convenient for getting in and out of the city. Room was an attic conversion with wooden floor and a skylight window with a settee. All in all it was roomy, warm and comfortable and quiet.

I have stayed in this B&B twice now; both times I have found the owner to be a very accommodating and welcoming host. With coming from Yorkshire I required a late check in - This was met with pleasant acceptance, even though on the second time this meant I would be delaying the owner's chance for a night out!
