Location: Excellent! On the edge of Durham near Flass Vale (pretty woodland walks) but only 5 minutes into town, then up the hill, to the Cathedral & Castle. Free Car Park. Secluded outside seating, front and back. Surrounded by trees and backing on to Flass Vale you would not think you were in a busy city Restaurant/Bar: Very pleasant attractive...

Fancied walking a different route on a recent day trip to Durham and discovered Flass Vale which is accessed through the Kingslodge car park. We walked for around an hour through lovely woodland and bluebells then popped in to the Kingslodge for a drink. We were served by a very efficient and friendly young man, I think he was called...

I've chose this hotel cause of the position; it's very close to the rail station and just few minutes from the city center. The hotel is simply lovely. It seems a mountain cottage with woods timbers and woods forniture and trees are all around the building. The hotel is very clean and the staff is helpful and very friendly. The...

First time I've been here since it reverted back to King lodge from Finbarrs, the restaurant was quiet but only to be expected considering it was a Tueday. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient, food didn't take long to arrive,i suspect that the starters were microwaved and not fleshly cooked but nevertheless both were good choices. I had the Kingslodge burger and...

This Hotel is in a good location near to the train station but just a short walk into Durham Centre. The hotel has very friendly staff but they could definitely do with more help. They were run off their feet. Breakfast was a bit of a let down. They had run out of juice and butter to start with, there...

The Kingslodge Hotel is really lovely and a great location to explore Durham. We had a double and 2 single bed rooms which were nicely decorated, spacious and clean. It was a short walk to the river, cathedral and town. A beautiful city. We had our evening meal, breakfast and Sunday lunch at Kingslodge all of which were of a...

Having never been to Durham we made the journey with our son to visit the Uni. If he decides that Durham is the Uni for him, we will definitely use The Kings lodge Inn again. Another visit to the hotel restaurant as non-residents, which was once again fantastic. Plentiful portions of tasty food make it great value for money. Wonderfully courteous staff and dog friendly too. Perfect!
