Just visited Durham for the second time .Stayed at the Kings Lodge and was overwhelmed with the friendliness of the staff . The hotel was excellent and only 5 minutes walk from the city centre . We would recommend this to all .Well done to Leanne and all the staff for a great weekend

We are a little short of good eateries in Durham City at present so we were quite exited at the opening of the revamped Kings Lodge with "delicious home cooked food created by our talented kitchen team" Wow I think the team were having a night off on their opening night! There was nothing delicious or home cooked about our...

The Kingslodge reopened last night under new ownership and is renamed The Kingslodge Inn. They have completely redesigned the interior and combined the previous bar area and the restaurant area. It is very well done and the decor is very tasteful. They have created a cosy feel by creating false fire places with electric stoves which look like wood burning...

Stayed here for a night on the 20th of February whilst working in Durham. Didn't get to really enjoy the entire hotel but the room was fresh & clean, great shower & bathroom facilities. Staff were as helpful as could be. Would definitely stay here again over any expensive high street name hotel.

I had booked the Kings Lodge for Saturday 12th March. I had a phone call yesterday night to cancel my booking. Apparently new owners took over yesterday and have closed the hotel with immediate effect for 6 weeks of renovation. This action suggests the new owners do not have much concern for their customers. The staff member who phoned (from...

As the new owners of The Kingslodge Inn we were disappointed to read your review. As you state, you were offered alternative accommodation while the former hotel was experiencing a major refurbishment. We really do hope to be able to welcome you to The Kingslodge Inn, which, we hope you will agree, has benefited from an extensive and thorough refurbishment...

Just returned from a weekend in Durham with friends. We stayed here for two nights and had a really great time, ideally situated for accessibility to the town. Rooms were clean and perfectly adequate for the short time we spent in them. Friendly staff in bar and restaurant ,breakfast was very good.

Stayed with 2 ladies in a family room with 2 beds and bed sofa, excellent value and good size room. Location is good and plenty of parking. Breakfast was good, would stay again. It was a freezing cold night but the room was cozy warm all night. It has a nice feel

I suspect we got lucky on this Sunday night stay over - the car park was full but emptied out early thankfully. The others rooms are very close in proximity and the corridor positively reverberated with late night returnees but everyone seemed to settled quietly and quickly. The cooked breakfast was great, nice warm croissants - what's not to like?...

We had a pleasant stay at the Kingslodge Hotel. it is well-situated, allowing you to park up and walk into the City very easily. The staff are very friendly and the rooms, although small and modestly decorated, are comfortable. A good place to stay!

On arrival the car park was nearly full. This was because of the Festive Season and the hotel is a popular local venue for fine dining. Our receptionist was welcoming, helpful and friendly. She advised us to book an evening meal straight away if we wanted to dine in that evening. Good advice! I'd telephoned earlier to check when our...
