As others have said, a handily placed small hotel. My two friends and I arrived by train and chose this hotel partly because of its proximity to the station (only a few minutes' walk - tip: ask the hotel for directions from the station because they are much easier to follow than Google!), ease of access to the city centre... A nice, clean hotel just a few minutes walk from all the amenities of the town centre, but in a side street which meant it was reasonably quiet. Our room was spacious and comfortable. A nice seating area at the front of the hotel and a little area to sit outside the bar. Breakfast was good. They offered continental breakfast,... More

Decent accommodation, fairly standard city accommodation though. Original room had a radiator fault and we were immediately upgraded to a suite which was a good response from the management. Good quality restaurant attached, and nice bar and garden. [1 night in Aug 2015].

Lovely hotel only a short walk into Durham town centre, good car parking, very good breakfast, friendly staff, and nice bar. We booked through Booking.com. Our room overlooked the car park and a wooded area, the room itself was a little cramped but adequate, nice shower, tv and good wifi connection. We would stay here again

Just spent a very happy reunion weekend with 4 other couples at the Kingslodge Hotel....a friendly and cosy retreat. We enjoyed the freshly cooked breakfasts, the shady garden, the small but clean and well equipped bedrooms. The hotel was a short walk to the city centre (we'd all forgotten how much we walked in Durham, we came back quite footsore!).... More

The is a very friendly, well placed hotel just out of the town centre but close enough to be within walking distance for all of the attractions. The rooms are a little dated, but the friendly staff and absolutely fantastic restaurant more than make up for this. Good parking also available. You must eat here in the evening and the... More
