From booking and paying deposit to arriving and leaving - the people at the Melrose made us feel perfectly at ease and most welcome - their hospitality was very warm and inviting. Would stay here again in a heart beat. Local for Douglas prom and places to eat - to having access to the TT circuit.

The hotel is situated away from the seafront uphill! But, for that, it benefits for being quieter. The room was a little small but it was ensuite, had tea making facilities and the beds were extremely comfortable. The host was very pleasant and the breakfasts were good. Would use it again.

The room - cold (until we asked for heating on). Door to shower room wouldn't close. We did ask the owner to look at it as it only needed a couple screws tightening, he didn't. Opened a draw to put in clothes and it fell to pieces on the floor. Free toiletries = 1 small bar of soap. 1 bath...

The hotel was good, nice breakfast, lovely staff and very, very well located. Would definitely stay again. Best value hotel I've been to, only issue was that the room was sometimes a bit too cold for my liking, although the thick blankets certainly helped.

Everyone wants different things from where they stay. It obviously suits some people, but not what l wanted. It was 1970s decor and furniture. Beds were really hard. Curtain wouldn't close, TV kept going black, free toiletries amounted to a little bar of soap. Shared toilet locks were dodgy. No sink in two of the toilets. There was liquid soap...

Excellent location only took us 5 minutes to walk down to the city centre shops. The proprietors were very helpful and friendly and the service exceeded our expectations. The room for a family of 4 was just right, clean and tastefully decorated. We would definitely look to stay there again next time we visit family.

Just had 3 nights here with our friend...Peter kindly met us at ferry(I forgot to google area!!).Walked into our room and (we tend not too choose b&b's), we was pleased how nice it was..Had the sink in the room and the toilet and an enclosed shower boxed off...The bed was fantastic, sheets were not horribly starched, pillows and mattress very comfortable, slept really...
