Got there about an hour early but no problem with checking in very quick and easy , shown to room and was just told to pay on checking out . Filled out breakfast forms good choice on menu and with the full English you could choose whether you wanted one or two sausages, eggs, and bacon plenty of cereals fresh...

The Metropolitan is an above avarage B&B located close to restaurants, shops, beach and the bus station. Rooms decorated to a high standard, comfortable beds although I found the pillows a bit hard. Room number 2 I suspect is above the staff quarters as there was loud conversations until three thirty in the morning. Breakfast was superb, I never seen...

three of us stayed here overnight for business trip arrived very late but was welcomed by the proprietor. Nothing was too much trouble the room was very spacious ,beautiful decor ,beds really comfy and the place was very clean. We were pleasantly surprised by this little b and , only stayed for one night but honestly could not fault anything, very clean, well kept, bedrooms have everything you could need, plenty of tea and coffee etc, very comfortable bed, large fluffy towels and beautifully presented. Had an amazing stay at the metropolitan. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom lovely with good shower. The extra biscuits and tea and coffee were great and the breakfast was great. Will definetly stay again.

We stayed here about 3 years ago and were impressed at that time so sought it out again. The boys have since done a bit of updating and the rooms are now more modern and lack for nothing. Room was clean and reasonably well appointed. The Met tries to be a boutique hotel but comes up short. Black furniture edges have worn white. Various bits of wood and plastic trim seem to have been installed by a visually challenged DIY enthusiast. None of these detracted from our stay but the plumbing is most peculiar. It bubbles and gurgles...

Was visiting family/friends in the area,and revisited this B&B. My room(3) was perfect!!!! Clean,fresh and comfortable!! The en suite shower was great-good pressure,and lovely towels. Breakfast was a joy!! Fresh coffee,wonderful ingredients,cooked and served to perfection!!! I would return here without hesitation!!!

Was very well presented and owners were very friendly and helpful. Meals were of very good quality and was well managed-had to state time you wanted your meal and what you wanted to eat on menu-menus were delivered to room each day Only negatives were room was quite small and shower expelair was very noisy

I want to keep this short. This quirky Whitley Bay hotel is truly a little gem. Beds are comfortable, breakfast is fresh clean an delicious and the management and staff polite and helpful without going overboard. Thank you one hundred percent.
