What a stunning Lodge this is I don't know which is better this or Cape Kidnappers they are both stunning!! Wonderful food wonderful locations nature the staff are marvelous as well!! Shear unadulterated luxury but with a perfect simplicity. Like Kidnappers if you can afford it it is worth every penny!! A must world class both locations!!

Only one night here at this amazing lodge. Every attention to detail was thought of and the rooms were extremely comfortable, tastefully decorated and with lots of amenity. The spa was great and the lap pool, sauna and jacuzzi felt like we had them to ourselves. We both had a massage, which was good, but not great and I would... More

If you became a multimillionaire and could afford one of the best locations on the planet to build your dream home , then you would build it here overlooking the beautiful bay of islands and you'd call it Kauri Cliffs . If you were the generous type , you might allow some guests to stay and to occupy them you'd... More

I stayed at the lodge for 3 nights. We were on our honeymoon, this was one of the best experiences in my life. I am not a golfer but i enjoyed most of the lodges activities that are held on the property!. Massive 6500 acres property with a wide selection of activities (golfing, horseback riding, quad bike tour, farm tour, hikes... More

Had a wonderful three night stay at Kauri Cliffs with my daughter. Only negative....our stay was too short. Property is beyond beautiful and the décor and furnishings are amazing. Pink beach is so amazingly beautiful and great for shelling. Great food and wonderful wine make this a top choice for discriminating travelers.

this was my second visit this year... we arrived overland - the way in is so low key and understated - nice thinking :) the golf shop staff - such wonderful, helpful people the course - unreal - esp. the walk to the blue tees on the 8th - is worth the detour - and my highlight from the visit.... What an amazing place the lodge feels like you are entering someones home, a very nice one. The staff are beyond fantastic and clearly have great pride in working there and seeing you enjoy yourself. The actual cabins, rooms, (I struggle to think of a suitable word) are fantastic. You deserve to spoil yourself occasionally and this is a great... More

My wife and I stayed 4 nights in May. This was our second visit and it remains our favorite resort. Not the easiest to find in heavy rain which magically cleared on arrival so the rest of the day was sunny and warm. Our visit coincided with a Domperignon 4 course dinner set up on a long elegant banquet table.... More

Wonderful service, amazing food, lovely facility and grounds. And the sunrises are incredible! This property is absolutely special. I felt like I was staying at a friend's house. It could have been very romantic if I had not been alone, but they made sure I did not feel lonely. Highly recommend!

Having taken short breaks to Matakauri Lodge in Queenstown for the last couple of years running, it was time to mix it up and head north to the Bay of Islands and The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs, the first of the Robertson properties. The reviews I wrote for Matakauri could equally apply to The Lodge. The only reason it gets... More

In the far north of New Zealand lies an unspoiled peninsula. High cliffs and a few ranches on this welcoming island which won the hearts of Julian and Josie Robertson. After designing a magnificent 18-hole golf course, the couple created a splendid colonial residence with outlying cottages. Space is the real luxury, the suite an apartment, the bathroom a spa. The epitome of refinement in a distant corner of the world. ... more   less
