Me & my wife stayed at the Derby in May for 3 nights. On arrival, there was plenty of parking and we received a warm welcome from Steve the landlord. In fact during the whole stay Steve was a pleasant host and friendly. The double room was on the ground floor and was warm and clean. There is also free...

My friend bought a property up in Barrow and asked if I'd join him for the trip up from Essex with a one-night stay over, which I agreed to do. He had previosly stayed at The Derby so had no issues with staying there again. It was my first time staying there and I wasn't disappointed - the owner (and...

Warm welcome on arrival from Stephen Moon. Room was spacious and clean, bed was cozy, shower gel/shampoo/tea/coffee etc stocked and room cleaned daily. B&B situated in idyllic country village with 2 traditional cozy pubs and friendly locals. Located 20 minutes away from the heart of the Lake District. Warm reception each morning from Sally Moon who made our delicious English...

Popped in for old times sake as many years ago we lived in the village. The pub is still good, great beer, sociable landlord and friendly clientele. "Pub food" available. Great atmosphere and banter amongst all present. There are 2 cottages available.

Steve is a great host and was very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was great and set me up for the day. Stopped there on a business trip for three nights. The room was cosy and warm and this was especially nice as we had some of that good old British weather; cold and wet. The pub is...

Steve, the proprietor, was very welcoming and obliging. Room comfortable and lovely and warm on a very cold day and night. Breakfast very good too and we would stay again. Derbyshire Arms only 2.7 miles to Ulverston where the surprise party was so very convenient for us.Lol hi by

Great room number 4 in Stable block, nice breakfast, the landlord even gave us a lift to fetch our car the next morning, lovely northern charm. Definitely stay again when next in the area. Ulcers ton is a lovely spot often missed when travelling to Lakes, give it a try

Booked a three night stay and couldn't have made a better choice. Steve is certainly a brilliant "mine host" The room was cosy and absolutely spotless. Comfortable bed and super soft pillows ... bliss. Super breakfast too. Great locals bar, friendly locals and Ann behind the bar made us really welcome. As the Derby Arms doesn't do evening meals Steve...

We were looking for comfortable accomodation near to Lake Windermere and certainly found it here. The room, although a little small; offered everything we needed. Outside noise, if any; never bothered us. The breakfast was indeed everything we could have hoped for and served at a reasonable hour. The ale served in the bar was a welcome change. Prices were...
