Bit of a mixed bag this one, and couldn't give it more than 3 stars. On walking into the restaurant/bar area to check in some of the the tables had boxes and bags stored on the which looked a bit odd and were still there all of our stay. The bed was so uncomfortable that i ended up with a sore back. The old sash and casement window in our room had gaps and let in a lot of noise. The restaurant was absolutely freezing in the evening due to the ventilation for covid but the heating could have been turned up to compensate for this. The evening food was delicious and have no complaints with that, and the staff were very nice. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, the only cereal available was for children i.e. coco pops, and the cooked breakfast was sparse and noting special which was a surprise considering how good the evening food was. Other room guests were very noisy one night but there is no staff staying at the inn overnight so there was no-one available at the time to complain to so got little in the way of sleep. Sorry but won't be back!!

My partner and I get a take away from the old cross inn about once a fortnight. The vegan buritos are amazing! In our area of Blairgowrie, there seem to be very few places that are willing to make vegan stuff (in fact, many have been rude about the request) but these guys went above and beyond. Highly recommended!!

Toast, mains of beefsteak pie and vegetable burritos, followed by some amazing home baked sweets; scone with jam and cream, coffee cake, biscuit base ganache and white chocolate pots, all washed down with lashings of tea. Absolutely beautiful food and such amazing value. Staff were lovely and top marks to the chef. Would definitely return when in the area again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night break at this fabulous hotel. Had a lovely warm welcome from Kelly on arrival. Our room (room 1) was situated at the front of the hotel & was large, warm & beautifully decorated. We had requested a double bed (twin is also an option) & it was huge! Very comfortable. There is a 2 seater couch in the room & water/tea & coffee making facilities. The bathroom was also a good size with a double walk in shower & toiletries. Breakfast was delicious. Good choice on the menu (full Scottish, croissants, pancakes & filled rolls) & all freshly made to order. Was piping hot & very tasty. We had dinner here on our second night & it was very good. Lots of choice on the menu & reasonably priced. Was freshly prepared to order & delicious. Top marks to the chef. The bar area is a good size & feels cosy & welcoming. It was quiet when we were there, but we were made to feel very welcome. A very nice place to relax. The hotel is approx 15 minutes walk to the main shopping area in Blairgowrie. There are lots of independent shops, as well as a few High Street names. There are also a few bars & restaurants. Well worth a stroll across the river. There’s lots to see & do in the area & most are just a short drive away. A really enjoyable trip & would definitely recommend this hotel.
