The Rocky Cove Bed & Breakfast has garnered commendation for its comfortable amenities and prime location, with the peaceful yet central setting being a highlight among guests. Many reviewers have extolled the cleanliness of the establishment, pointing to the spotless rooms and pristine bathrooms. The service earns rave reviews for its friendliness and the delectable breakfast options.
Although the rooms are generally celebrated for their space and outfitting, a few have noted maintenance concerns. While some travelers mention extra charges for breakfast, others feel the overall value and ambiance—with its stylish and quirky decor—justify the cost.

Detailed Reviews
From the moment we stepped through the door to the moment we left, we loved every minute at The Rocky Cove BnB! We brought our two dogs, one Lurcher and our Chihuahua and we were all given a fantastic welcome before being showing to the oval room overlooking the street, the park with a glimpse of the wild seas during storm Jorge in the distance! The owner, Nikki gave us a run through of the local restaurants and pubs that were dog friendly too and so glad she did as were made so welcome at the local tapas bar, they even put out a blanket and some water for our boys.
The oval room at the Rocky Cove is amazing, really spacious, beautifully furnished with the most lush freestanding bath and rainfall shower which are amazing as we treated ourselves to both! Great sleep followed by an amazing breakfast, the bacon was to die for, the best I've had in ages and my wife enjoyed the veggie breakfast too.
All in all we would give this place 6 out of 5 if possible and we will all be back again as soon as possible, its only a 2 hour drive from our home in Bristol!
Thanks again Nikki and Jonah, with love from Trevor & Julie ~ PS - Best of luck for your wedding ;-)

The Rocky Cove Bed and Breakfast Hotel is a welcome alternative to the chain establishments, that favour blanket mediocrity over personal service and interaction.
Nicki and Jonah have created the perfect environment for travellers who enjoy privacy and comfort with the added touch of local knowledge.
The room and facilities were excellent and the location of the hotel was perfect being right next to the centre of town and 2 minutes walk from the Ilfracombe Harbour.
Despite proximity to the town, the room was quiet with no interference or noise from the surrounding area, and the bespoke breakfast set me up perfectly for the day.
I've had the pleasure of staying in a lot of excellent hotels in the UK, and very pleased to be adding the Rocky Cove to this list of preferred venues.
If you value personal service, attention to detail and a couple that take immense pride in their Hotel - The Rocky Cove is for you.
The excellent price, location and classic English Seaside appeal, makes this a must-stay-place.
I really hope overseas travellers also stay here, so they get first hand experience of what brilliant seaside Bed and Breakfast accommodation can be like.

Room was very spacious, airy and comfortable with a large bathroom and views over Ilfracombe. Lovely room, lovely shower.
Jonah and Nikki were very welcoming, friendly and always ready to help, providing advice in advance about parking options and restaurants. There are a few parking spaces directly outside (limited to 2 hours in the summer) but this is free before 10 am so great for loading up on departure day. The overall feel of the B&B is very relaxed.
Very quiet despite it's fantastic central location and we both had good nights sleep (we didn't hear traffic or other guests). However, the curtains are not blackout so the room was fairly bright first thing in the morning.
Breakfast was really tasty and well organised - in two sittings so that only 2 tables were occupied and everything cleaned down between sittings. Feels very COVID secure. Everything is cooked to order so beautifully fresh - really good bacon and crisp toast in a toast rack (so it doesn't go soggy) - hurrah!.
It's hardly surprising they have a lot of repeat business and we were so impressed we're coming back next year.

Just returned from a much needed break away which was made so much better by Nicki and Jonah at the Rocky Cove.
The attention to detail was superb, advising us in advance of parking arrangements, advice on where to eat and checking to see what time we were due to arrive, all of which was greatly appreciated.
We stayed in the 3rd floor family room which was the perfect size for the 3 of us. The room was bright, well furnished and nicely decorated, the bathroom was of a good size too and in great condition.
Nicki and Jonah were great hosts, always happy to chat and ask about our day, as well as answering our many questions and offering suggestions despite rushing around at 100 miles per hour.
The breakfast was superb too and set us up well for the day.
In terms of location, we couldn't have asked for better, with the harbour being a few minutes walk in one direction and beach in the other, together with a good selection of restaurants nearby, the on site ice cream parlour is definitely worth a visit too.
With the situation the world finds itself in right now due to covid19 it was reassuring to find plenty of sanitiser and wipes available together with high standards of cleanliness throughout, coupled with the reassuring information published on the website.
The only downside was having to leave to return home, we will definitely be back however.

My boyfriend and I have just returned back from our second visit with Nicki and Jonah. Our first visit being nearly 4 years ago. Since then the b&b held a special place in our hearts so we had to return back.
The b&b is just as perfect the first time both Nicki and Jonah work so hard to make sure everyone's stay is perfect.
We have stayed in the oval room both times this is by far our favourite room in the b&b the oval bath is stunning, perfect for a long soak after a long busy day. However the room also has a shower aswell which is perfect for us.
The room is beautifully decorated and the bed is so comfy!
During our stay we had arranged to swap rooms due to our current room being booked by another couple this was made so carefree by Nicki and Jonah who moved our luggage to the family room and had everything there all ready for us which was perfect!
The family room has a large bed and a separate single bed ideal for people with little ones wanting to stay there is also netflix and other options in the TV.
Jonah's breakfast is delicious everything is cooked beautifully.
The location is so handy as you are a short drive away from most towns or days out.
The carpark is just around the corner where you can park for around £8.80 for 24 hrs. This was very handy.
We can not thank you both enough and beautiful Bella!
During our stay we tried" The Depot" and "Giovanni and Luca" these are our two top favourites.
We can not fault anything your hospitality is outstanding and all your hard work shows.
Thank you for another memorable visit we will always come back

Located right by the sea it’s the perfect location for those wanting to go for coastal walks. The a Rocky Cove has been decorated nicely throughout and are happy to chat to you, giving you the personal touch you wouldn’t get at a hotel. The breakfast on offer is yummy, with their poached eggs my favourite.
Highly recommend staying here, don’t waste your time going anywhere else. We will be going back.

We first stayed at Rocky Cove last year and ever since then we couldn’t wait to come back for another visit. Nicki and Jonah make you feel incredibly welcome in their Beautiful bed and breakfast. We have only ever stayed in the rooms at the back and even though you are right in the middle of town they are which incredibly quiet. You can have your pic of anything you wish for breakfast which are always tasty and fill up for the day especially with the added fudge treat!!
Rocky Cove doesn’t have its own parking but don’t let that put you off because there is lots of cheap or even free parking to be had.
Really looking forward to going back next year

We stayed in Room 3 (Lower Capstone) for a few nights. We had an amazing stay. We were impressed with everything, the warm welcome, the beautiful home, the modern and well thought out decor. The shower was incredibly powerful and spotlessly clean, as was the bedroom too. The double bed was amazingly spacious, comfortable as we're the pillows too.
The room looks out onto Capstone Hill and behind this is the sea. What a glorious view to look out onto everyday 😍 we really enjoyed Jonah's full English breakfast, toast and cereal and his homemade fudge too! All of this sets you up for the day and is cooked from fresh too.
The location of The Rocky Cove B&B is spot on, as this is centrally located to all of your harbour pubs, restaurants, two beaches and the high street too! We didn't have to walk very far, which was a bonus as this is all on your doorstep.
We had no issue with parking as there is free residential street parking a 5 minute walk away, which the owners Jonah and Nicki are happy to explain and also sent to us in email format too, the day before travel. There is also on road parking outside and opposite the B&B too. Plus there are two carparks which are 1 minute walk away. In regards to parking, there was plenty of choice, which we thought was superb.
Nicki and Jonah's hospitality is perfect and you can really tell that they love what they do. We will definitely be returning and we will be recommending the Rocky Cove B&B to all of our friends and family. 😃

We booked the entire property the two front rooms The Oval Room and The Family Room. Both of these were massive with ensuites and The Oval Room had a beautiful bath too. These looked onto the town and from the side of the window to the right, there was a partial sea view, which was 1 minute walk away from the property.
The two back rooms The Lower Capstone and The Upper Capstone, these were double rooms with ensuite. These looked over the beautiful green hill, Capstone Hill and behind this is the sea and the coastal path too. The double rooms were beautifully spacious and all of the beds, in all of the rooms, were extremely comfortable too.
Jonah's homemade full English breakfast, toast, cereal, endless supplies tea, coffee, water and juice plus fruit and not forgetting the homemade fudge. This is an additional cost, so worth it for the price and for what you get. Amazing value for money, You wouldn't get all of this in Wetherspoons for this price and it wouldn't be freshly cooked to order too. (Like Jonah's is) Amazing breakfast, would highly recommend.
We had no qualms regarding the parking as the owners very kindly pointed us in the direction of free residential street parking, which is a 5 minute walk away from the B&B. They also send you all of this information prior to your arrival, which was a nice touch, as most other places we have stayed, do not do this.
Overall the hospitality we received from Nicki and Jonah was 10 out of 10, they make you feel so welcome and The Rocky Cove is a home from home.
The B&B is central to all of the pubs and restaurants too. We had a lovely drink on the harbour in the Peir Tap & Brewery and a delightful dinner at The Terrace Tapas restaurant too, we booked the restaurant prior to arrival. These were both only a short walk away from The Rocky Cove B&B.
Thank you for a wonderful stay, you have a great place. We will be returning, see you both in 2023 😉

We have been regular visitors to Ilfracombe for many years and The Rocky Cove was the nicest accommodation we have stayed in by far. We stayed in the family room which is a great size for 3 people. Our room was spotlessly clean with a wonderful shower and the most comfortable beds. Jonah and Nicki were the perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. Jonah’s cooked breakfast was delicious as was his homemade fudge!
We booked our next stay for April on the morning of our departure!

We only stayed one night and it was £95 so you would have to get in touch with them.
Yes their are several places, their are meter parking outside up to 2-3 hours, this is depending on the season and free after 6pm and before 10am. If you are unable to get a space here, their is a car park called Ropery Road Car Park, which is a 2 minute walk from our B&B. In high season this is £6 for 24 hours and £2.50-£3.00 in low season. Their is also Granville Road(a really long road), this is a 8-10 minute walk from our B&B, this is residential parking, no yellow lines, and is where the locals and we park our car. We hope this helps?
The reason why we do not have an actual car park is because we are on the seafront and we are a 3-5 minute walk from the harbour, our location is very central.
Hi, thats great to hear, we are looking forward to meeting you in June. Our opening day is tomorrow, and we are very excited about it:) Kindest Regards, Nicki and Jonah.
