Detailed Reviews
Can't agree with the only previous review. Greeting at the Royal Britannia - the Grand Harbour is an annex some 50 yards away - was cheerful and efficient. Not asked for photo ID or driving licence or asked to sign about smoking.
The room was large and comfortable although noisy from the street up until 11.00pm or thereabouts. Did not hear doors slamming or voices from next door.
We were disappointed in the half drunk glass of coke left on the dressing table and the fact that the the wooden floors were cleaned but not washed at all. Used towels were not replaced for the 4 days we were there.
Breakfast was ok at the Britannia Hotel sitting outside overlooking the harbour.
Hot water was immediate although far too hot. The room was modern and comfortable although lacking in storage space. Plenty of electric sockets. WiFi ok.
No private parking available and at times struggled to find space in the nearest public parking area - cost £8.00 per day.

Ended up here for 1 night and for the money it was good value. Good location in town. Renovated room, basic bit all we needed. Coffee/tea and hairdryer were appreciated. Good wifi and tv, great shower/bath tub. Some noise from the road and could hear other patrons during the night.

Just returned from a lovely stay at the Grand Harbour. The hotel was really clean, the staff were really friendly, and it was great value for money.
There isn’t any parking, but lots of nearby car parks. The food was nice, and lovely views over the harbour from its sister hotel. The only down side was the drinks were a little pricey.
Would recommend it for a nice break near the harbour.

We were given a room here because our original hotel was being renovated.
From the outside its just a door on the street as the ground floor is in the hands of the builder. To be fair the room was large and had obviously been recently refurbished albeit on a low budget.
Checkin was dealt with in a manner that made us feel like criminals, sign this about smoking, fill this in with photo id, brusque bordering on rude.
The problems started in the evening, the noise in the street, all the floors are wood, you WILL hear every stamp up the stairs and the slamming of the heavy front door. You WILL hear every word spoken in the room next door and whatever they are watching on the TV. There are no carpets to help with noise reduction and the walls are paper thin.
For your breakfast you have to cross the street to the Royal Britannia, where the only word to use is rough. Again in the spirit of fairness the guy preparing the breakfasts was trying his best and my husband said his food was OK. You couldnt have paid me to eat there.
We were on a walking holiday and our luggage is in the hands of a transfer service. I have waited until our bags have safely made it to our next destination before posting this review as I didnt trust them. I'm still uncomfortable that they have a copy of my driving licence and bank card ( at their insistence despite the company we are using for our holiday having already paid the bill).
If we had been paying the builder for the work carried out we would have had a "snagging" list a mile long.
Try Rocky Cove B and B up the road. Far and above a better place.
I have had to give a single star to be able to make this review. Given a choice it would be zero.
