Detailed Reviews
We have just returned from a lovely 6 night stay at The Devonshire Villa. Amanda and Matt are fantastic hosts, very welcoming and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. The hotel is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and the breakfast is amazing with so much choice. We didn’t need any lunch!
On arrival there were delicious homemade cookies in our room along with fresh milk and bottled water in the mini fridge.
Would highly recommend. Thankyou again for such an enjoyable stay.

We have just spent the weekend at the Devonshire Villa B&B in Ilfracombe and had a very enjoyable stay. Amanda and Matt made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We were in room 4 which was beautifully decorated and had a lovely ensuite. We had clean towels every day of our stay! The bed was very comfortable and the whole property was extremely clean. In the mini fridge was fresh milk for teas or coffee and chilled bottled water. Also there was a jar of homemade cookies! The full English breakfast was superb along with a great choice of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt and croissants we were set up for the day ahead! We would definitely recommend.

Fantastic stay at this charming B&B hosted by Amanda and Matt. The building is a perfect mix of 'old meets new' with its carefully maintained Victorian features and modern furnishings.
LOCATION: great location, either a 5 minute drive or 20-30 minute walk to the harbour. Also a short drive to the lovely seaside resort of Woolacombe. If you want to go inland, it's about a 30 minute drive to Barnstaple. Onsite parking is available outside the B&B.
THE ROOM: we stayed for two nights in room 4; it was a great size for the two of us, with a large comfy bed, good storage space and other nice touches such as a tea/coffee station, plus fresh water daily in the mini fridge and homemade cookies on arrival.
The room and bathroom were sparkly clean, and both refreshed after our first night which was a nice surprise considering we only stayed a short time.
Good quality TV with Freeview also available.
Worth a read through the guide left in the room, it's full of recommendations of things to do and places to see, plus an interesting little summary of the local history dating back to the 1800's - I really enjoyed this!
THE BREAKFAST: there was a great choice of both hot and cold breakfast to suit all, catering also for allergies and intolerances. Hot food and drink is prepared to order. We each had the full english, which was made with great quality ingredients.
We felt very welcome and at home here, and would most definitely stay again. Thank you Amanda and Matt for having us, and for being the most perfect hosts.

We arrived on Saturday 16th July for our 3 night B&B stay, and were welcomed by the lovely Amanda. Who showed us to our beautiful room for 2 nights, room 4 which we found elegantly decorated and dressed and with all the comforts you could need. Following our first night we we're served a perfectly cooked breakfast, along with fresh fruits, croissants, juices and an array of trimmings served with a smile. After our second night we moved to room 3 to accommodate a previous booking and were even more thrilled at its splendor. Both Amanda and Matt are superb host's who can never do enough for you. Be it your comfort, dietary requirements or need for local knowledge and advice. We shall be returning in the near future and have placed this on our go-to list of homes from home. Plus there's the added bonus of wonderful cuddles with Maisie

I feel so lucky to have found this beautiful guesthouse ! Especially after visiting other hotels in Ilfracombe… it is so clean, modern, extremely well run . Every single item in the room is not only so pretty but also very practical and comfortable. I love the way Amanda ( the Host) greets her guests and she has such a great taste and Energy.
I wish there were many more people as passionate in their business as Amanda is. I felt home ….

Fabulous B&B, location is a short walk to the town center, the rooms are decorated to the highest standard with quality amenities in the room. Amanda & Matt couldn’t do enough to make you feel very welcome. The breakfast had a range of options & was all freshly cooked. Plus the home made cookies were delicious. They have plans to continue upgrading the remaining rooms & the outside frontage which will be great. A brilliant find & would highly recommend

A beautiful boutique B&B, with a warm welcome, spotless clean, the most comfortable bed & great facilities. The breakfast was an absolute 10/10 and my gluten free needs were all taken care of. I would highly recommend a stay at the Devonshire Villas.

This B and B has only been open since June and it is FABULOUS. Amanda and Matt could not have done more to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The bed has to be the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in and the ‘full English’ breakfast is just amazing. I would definitely stay here again. I wish them every success.

Stayed over for one night. Great value for money with excellent clean and comfortable room, very nice staff and a fantastic breakfast. We would certainly stay again if ever in the area. The lady owner said it was her dream to run a hotel and it certainly showed in the way she made us most welcome.
