Stayed here on 10th of July for two nights with three friends on a cycling weekend.
Spoke to Ann Marie on several occasions before & during our stay & what a delightful hostess.
The rooms were comfortable & immaculate. The breakfast was made with all fresh ingredients, I had the full English & was spot on lovley location just above Ilfracombe Town center very quiet. This is my first review ive written & well deserved too
Thanks for a lovely stay.

My wife and i stayed at the Wildercombe House boutique B&B in room six between the 25th of September and 28th of September for a four night break as we were visiting a friend who resides in the area plus a break away as we had not had annual holiday due to the current Covid restrictions.
We were greeted by Anne Marie warmly who explained the current measures in place including pre-ording of our breakfast each morning and allocated table in the dining room, plus the one way system in operation within the glorious Victorian building. Our suite consisted of a lounge, state of the art shower inside a generous bathroom all prepared and spotless in its presentation upon arrival.
During our stay Anne Marie and the team could not do anything more for you to make you feel at ease during our stay and recommended places of interest to see and eateries in the local area to try. Upon departure we provided positive feedback and made a suggestion to place a roll top bath in the room to replace the current lounge area in the room as you could then lie in the bath and take in the commanding views of the hotel position overlooking the town of Ilfracombe.
One thing is for certain if our stay was as good at it was in the current challenging business circumstances it asked the question how good must it be "normally", we certainly would not have any hesitation in returning in the future.

We arrived by bicycle and right away Anne Marie made us very welcome letting us charge and store our bikes in the hall. Or room was large, immaculately clean and had an enormous (disabled friendly) bathroom with walk in shower. A drinks fridge in the room was also very welcome. Breakfast was plentiful and had everything we could have wanted, coffee from the machine though wasn't too great. The only small criticism we had was that the double bed was very small.

Wow! Wildercombe house is such a wonderful place to stay. Anne Marie was so welcoming and helpful, and we were given room upgrades for free when we arrived. The rooms (and whole hotel) are beautifully decorated, spacious and comfortable, and the stay felt just like we were in our own home. Plenty of parking and a 20 minute walk down the hill to the sea front. Breakfast was delicious, so much choice!! We were given real bottles of milk in our fridges, free coffee and biscuits (and more in the corridor to help yourself to) and lots of space to hang clothes in the room. By far the nicest hotel we have stayed at in years, the attention to detail really made our stay feel special.

Stayed here for the second time, this time for 9 nights. Hotel still as clean as the time before. Great breakfast. Anne Marie is a great host. Very COVID 19 conscious, hand sanitiser available and hotel thoroughly cleaned, felt perfectly safe staying here. We will be returning.

Overlooking the town on the main road into the town our room [6] had a view of the sea. From the moment you arrive Anne-Marie welcomes you with a friendly smile and shows you around. You pick your breakfast table in the bay window is best and you select your breakfast the night before and it is freshly cooked when you are seated good selection of fruit cereal bread for toast [ marmite available on request]. Room 6 was one of the largest we have ever stayed in, fantastic bathroom with great shower, plenty of wardrobe space you could say it was a walk in wardrobe. Then you come to the bed I would say it was at least queen size if not king size plenty of room and a very comfy mattress. Room will accommodate more than two bed settee in room.Good parking space 15/25 minute walk to the harbour 40 minute walk back. Nice park nearby well maintained flower beds

+1
What an absolutely fantastic place this is. Book now, reserves your room before it sells out, then come back and read the rest.
The building itself is gorgeous and really stands out against the hill side. Parking is accessed up a private drive and the main entrance is very welcoming.
It is very well presented and has a very nice luxurious feel as you walk through. It really is a beautiful place.
We were welcomed and updated as to what was where and how to reserve breakfast. Now, little point about this. My wife is clinically vulnerable and was seriously concerned about dining in a room with others. Not a problem at all, it was offered to serve breakfast to the room, just fill in the breakfast request form and add serve to room with the time you want to eat.
We had room 10 on the second floor. Upon entering the room were we impressed how lovely the room was, dining / seating lounge, through into the bedroom and the bathroom was at the far end. The other end had the kitchenette on the one side and French doors opening onto the balcony, about 4m square, Astroturf with sun loungers, and oh wow, great views towards Ilfracombe and the sea. Great place to stand at night and watch the sun go down.
The bed? well, I am 6'1" and lying down can just reach each side with my fingertips, yes, seriously, its that wide, bring a walkie talkie so you can chat to the missus on the other side. there is also a wall mounted tv, about a 40", so you can lie in bed and catch up on corrie !
The dining area / lounge, again a large wall mounted TV, this time about a 50", coffee table and comfy sofa, with a couple of comfy chairs.
Over by the French windows is a very nice dining table and chairs, behind and into the alcove leads to the kitchenette with microwave, toaster and sink - drainer along with tea and coffee making faculties. Integral fridge is under the counter top and is big enough for two of you to store small stuff, a fresh carton of milk was provided.
I can highly recommend this hotel and will definitely look forward to staying there again.

We just returned from a wonderful 3-night stay at Wildercombe House, it really made our staycation.
Our parents stayed here last year and, after seeing their room, there was no doubt that we would book to stay here this year. Everything is perfect from the beautiful hallways, the immaculate and gorgeous bedrooms and bathrooms, the amazing breakfasts and dining room and of course the service we received, it honestly is the most perfect place and we will miss it for another year!
Nothing is too much trouble and, although changes have had to be made at breakfast and with housekeeping due to Covid-19, this really doesn't have an impact as Anne-Marie is on hand to help with clean towels and crockery etc.
Wildercombe House is only a 10 minute walk to the centre of Ilfracombe so there is no need to drive if the weather is fine.
We cannot wait to return next year with our parents.

We have had a lovely stay in this B&B. Situated on the outskirts of Ilfracombe with lovey views over the town, it was a perfect location for exploring the North Devon coast and Exmoor. The house is a large well kept residence with plenty of parking and inside provides generously proportioned elegant rooms. We stayed in room 2 which was bright and airy offering a king size bed and an additional single bed. Our window was at the side of the house overlooking the car park and had lovely sea views. Our en-suite bathroom was also large with a walk in shower with rainfall and conventional shower heads. We were fortunate to have beautiful warm weather and were able to get a cooling through breeze into the room by opening both the bedroom and en-suite windows so didn’t need to use the fan provided. We had everything in our room we could need and were especially pleased to find the complimentary milk in the room fridge to enable us to have those morning tea and coffees. The breakfast room was flooded with light from the enormous windows and the selection of food was perfect for us with a help yourself buffet of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, meat and cheeses, juices, tea, coffee and toast. There was also a cooked to order choice of warm food including full English, kippers etc. We especially liked that we could pre order the exact items we wanted on our full English to help reduce food wastage. We were greeted by the owner, Annmarie, who also took the time to wish us a safe journey on the morning of our departure. A thoroughly lovely B&B and one we would happily return to and recommend to others.

What a beautiful house and very much a home from home. The place is immaculate and staff friendly.
The room we stayed in (12) was big with a lovely en-suite and separate dressing room with tea and coffee and even fresh milk in the fridge. The bed was big and comfortable and the room was very quiet as at the rear of the house.
We were staying for a wedding and although out of the town it was walkable and only a 15 minute walk downhill however a very steep climb back up so choose a taxi which was only £6
The breakfast was lovely and a good selection to choose from.
Nothing was to much trouble for the owner Anne-Marie and she was very welcoming and friendly
Thankyou for a lovely stay and we would definitely be back

We no longer have a bar, and do not serve evening meals. However, there are a number of restaurants/pubs etc., locally. Therefore, please refer to our website for suggestions of places to eat.
Good morning, thank you for your message, and yes, we do have free on-site parking. Kind regards, Anne-Marie Marsh
Hello, thank you for your enquiry. We have a secure area which is undercover and out of sight, but not a lockable storage shed. You would therefore need to use padlocks.
We're 5 minutes by car, or a 15-20 minute walk.
Yes, we do, Room 1 (standard double bed and single bed) and Room 4 (king-size bed and single bed).
