We were dreading our weekend away after reading some of the recent reviews however we had a fantastic time and the holiday park is great. Before we arrived we received an email containing details of how to access the apartment via the lock box and a map showing the location. The apartment was modern and clean. The beds were large and comfortable. Although basic the kitchen contained everything we needed including the all important bottle opener. We took our own dishwasher tablets, tea towel etc but there was no need as these were provided along with a toilet roll and tea, coffee & milk sachets. We ventured into the clubhouse to visit the arcade and bar, there were plenty of hand sanitizers around and the staff were friendly and very helpful. There was plenty of car parking, although a bit of a tight squeeze, the grounds seemed well maintained. The park is located at the top of a very steep hill, we decided to drive down to the town rather than tackle the journey back up with a buggy. There is a large Tesco 5mins further up the hill if you need any supplies. Various takeout vans are on site during the week and a schedule was in the apartment on an information sheet which also had details of the pool times etc. I would definitely recommend the park, please don’t be put off by the negative reviews. I would say that there are some blocks of apartments towards the rear of the site that look very dated but there seems to be an ongoing renovation programme as some of these were fenced off.

Booked 10 night’s at the last minute having had to cancel another holiday and only after we booked did we look through all the reviews, a lot of them less than favorable! We booked a ‘Verity’ apartment which had two bedrooms, living area, toilet and shower and a kitchen. It is fairly basic though the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen comes equipped with a dishwasher, fridge and microwave along with bowls, plates, and cutlery for four. The kitchen knives are not very sharp and the glass cutting board won’t help but is good for cleanliness. Bring your own if you are fussy. There is also a laundry on site Which isn’t mentioned on the site but worth bearing in mind as we would have packed less clothes had we known.

We didn’t use the bar though did use the pool on several occasions and it was lovely and warm and very clean.

There are no restaurant facilities during covid though there was a Jamaican food van that visited in the evenings over the weekend which was very good.

There is a Tesco store a 5 minute walk away uphill which was handy and although the park looks to be close to the seafront, it is a steep road in to town.

As we spent most of our time on beaches and out and about, this served as a perfect base from which to see this corner of Devon.

Overall, quite happy.

Oh and as you head in to Ilfracombe, at the bottom of the hill you will see a Coop supermarket right in front of you. Just to left of this is a fantastic cafe that you really should visit.

Reviewing only from the entertainment food venues.
Ladies toilets -
Only one toilet had a toilet roll And every other one had none!
The disabled toilet was blocked with tissue so couldn’t be used!
Saw a guest breaking the seal on the Men’s toilets . Aren’t they closed for a reason ,you idiot!!!! ! Not challenged by staff.
No hot drinks available at the bar! Apparently the machines were broke ( hang on! Don’t you need just a kettle for hot water ! ) Yes it’s a self catering place but c’mon we do like to come out of the room for a hot drink And a natter to other people !
Shame that only a few of the machines in the arcade were working ! Kids were bored to tears especially as it was tipping it down and not able to go out due to weather so at least turn the machines on as nothing else to do apart from swim for 45 minutes if you could get a slot!
No entertainment at the moment but we do have another 5 nights to stay here!
Not gonna comment on accommodation as that will come after we leave!
Bar prices are reasonable.
Food outlet was a van outside entertainment venue
£10 for drink and burger or pizza chips
£7.50 for kids meals fish fingers and chips
Burger and chips
Pizza and chips With drink . This was a good deal and cooked well !
Only place we could get hot takeaway food !
We know it’s hard to start opening things and doing the right thing but you really need to please your guests by doing the right thing ! That’s why there is only a handful of guests in the venue every night because it’s the most boring place to be!
Hopefully this will pick up this week and we can enjoy the rest of our hiliday with our family.

stayed Monday to Friday on a sun holiday deal
Received email morning of arrival explaining contactless check in and a map to find our apartment keys in a code box outside.
Immaculate Apartment was almost brand new nice leather sofas, a dish washer included in fully equiped kitchen , very nice shower with decent water pressure a very nice place to stay .
Onsite swimming pool is nice , warm and cleaned regularly with numbers limited due to covid we didn’t have more than a 10 min wait for pool all week meaning a very happy 10 year old boy .
Onsite arcades including slot machines , racing games , air hockey , pools tables ect kept the lad occupied sufficiently.
No onsite food (did have a independent food wagon on site few nights of week) or entertainment yet due to covid but they have a bar in main complex attached to arcades with a dance floor plenty of room to socialise with music playing and disco lights on , they have a soft play area inside for children and right opposite the site in a sports field with football and rugby goals
They are very understanding of the fact have no food on sale at the moment so they not only allow but also will help assist in letting you order takeaways ect to clubhouse to enjoy with a few drinks.
Really could of expected or hope for a better place to stay great value for money and customer service to rival any five star resort

All the the staff were amazing from the people serving you drinks to the people outside doing the garden ect everyone is happy , friendly and welcoming
Particular thanks to Patrick the lifeguard who was amazing very professional and friendly and also to Tash who as far as I could tell did a bit of everything a very welcoming host and extremely helpful person . Both these people help put the icing on the cake for our already amazing holiday
5 STAR

We booked this apartment after the government said we could have a 5 day Xmas. Plans changed as, although none of us were in tier 4, we couldn't share the accommodation for more than the one day.
Reception wasn't manned but we were given the code to the key box to let ourselves in. First impression from the outside of our block was that it needed work. However, inside was a totally different story. It had been warmed ready for us, it had new carpets and furniture if a high spec. The linen and towels were good quality and the beds comfy.
I can't criticise it and we had a lovely Christmas.
I would certainly recommend the apartments and as we weren't there for any facilities other than the apartment, it suited us very well.

The info we received prior to arrival was good and we could have contacted someone in an emergency.

Lovely touches such as washing up liquid, a dishwasher tablet, tea towel, scouring sponge, some milk, coffee and sugar sticks plus teabags, meant we could have drinks on arrival.

To have free electricity, towels, bedding and the finishing touches in a lovely apartment, made it very good value for money.

We are likely to be back in the future.

I have just returned from a weeks stay at Ilfracombe holiday park with my fiancé and two children and wow where to start. We had a two bedroom deluxe apartment and it was spotless on arrival. The kitchen and bathroom were clearly quite new and there was more than expected provided, including dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and kitchen roll. There were so many towels we didn’t even use them all. The complex itself offers a lovely pool area where a lifeguard was always present. The clubhouse was clean and the staff in the bar and restaurant were incredible, friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful. There was a soft play area which both children loved and it was always clean.

There were also a range of other activities available including badminton and table tennis.
The entertainment staff were the BEST I have ever seen and had something for both adults and children. They were all amazingly talented and we looked forward to seeing them every night.
The location is great with lots of beaches/places to visit within short driving distances.

I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a fun family holiday, we will 100% be returning next year!!

We have just got back from a mid week break, the room was lovely however this was up a flight of wooden, not so safe stairs then up another flight of stairs to get to the main living area, I am 29 weeks pregnant and was finding all the stair very difficult, we went to reception to see if they can move us to a lover floor, to be told by reception that there was nothing available at the moment but he took our number and said he would call us on the Tuesday to sort something out, we had not heard anything from then so we call back in reception to be told they were waiting for eletrics to be sorted in one unit then they would let us know, so that's our 1st morning wasted.
Later in the afternoon we still had not heard anything from reception so my partner went down to reception to find out what was happening as it was really stressing me out, only to be told there was nothing they can do, my partner then said that the room next to us that wasn't up an extra flight of stairs was empty so why can't we move into there, the reception agreed to this... Why could reception come up with this solution?
The meals are 10.00 each at the moment so take plenty of money with you if your planning to eat on site, also asked about a refund for the entertainment passes and kept getting fobed off, we were promised a call back to sorted out the refund surprise surprise no call back. We rang on the last day as was fed up with going into reception to be told that we will have the refund within the next 14 days... Quick to take your money have but not so fast in retuning it, not holding our breath for this refund. Safe to say do not expect any help from reception if you need anything.

We really enjoyed our stay at the park. The park is undergoing some upgrades with new management. We really enjoyed the pool and new sauna, which we visited every morning. The clubhouse was relaxed and friendly. Dogs were allowed on the park and in the clubhouse, in fact they were spoiled by staff. We stayed for 2 weeks and the park is ideally situated to travel to many areas and visitor attractions.

From the outside, some of the park apartment blocks look a bit run down, however, they were working on this when we were there. There was scaffolding at the back of our apartment block, however, this was not an issue as there was only another block behind us! The inside of our apartment was lovely. New kitchen, clean, neat and tidy. The only thing missing is a drying rack and tea towel, everything else is supplied. There was even a welcome pack of coffee, tea, etc.

The bathroom/shower was also new, quite a big room, with a large corner shower unit. All towels were supplied and were refreshed when requested.

The mattress on the bed in the main bedroom was amazing. I suffer from back and hip problems, which were barely visible after a couple of nights sleep. Top quality. The only shortage in the bedrooms was coat hangers, of which there were only a few of. Plenty of storage for clothes.

The only disappointment was the sofa's in the main living area, they are low and small, and not very comfortable.

The only thing missing overall which would have been lovely to have was an outside seating area at the apartment. Walking around the park, there were some areas where picnic tables were placed outside apartment blocks, just not near ours.

There is a laundrette on site, which is very handy if staying for a longer period as we were. There was even a clothes horse in the apartment.

Special mention for 2 members of staff who made our stay really enjoyable and fun, Chris and Steve, thanks guys.

I also met one of the new owners while there, and she could not be more helpful answering queries and helping us out.

Overall, a very pleasant, enjoyable stay, and I would have no hesitation to book again. I highly recommend.

Upon arrival it was a lovely site being greeted by beds and mattresses in the main car park.
The wife was told we could book in at 3 pm went to reception and told room would not be ready until 4pm actually 5:30pm great start. Finally got the key walked to the room and was greeted by piles of rubbish tables chairs and sofas from the site refurb blocking any safe pay to the room.

On the plus side the room was clean and tidy when we fought our way past the Habitat closing down sale.

Entertainment venue is shocking you won't get drunk as it's an hour to get a round of drinks, the 4-6 staff working spend more time chatting behind the bar than actually serving any paying customers,I am sure the staff are nice people but mismanaged.

Food if you can call it that is ok but again takes hrs to arrive,it's easier to drive to Ilfracombe or cook your own.

Just to top it off the owners must be saving a few quid on waste disposal because they had a bonfire behind our block to get rid of all the old furniture, really safe near a oil tank and people's rooms.

Never again

arrived on 31/07/20, emailed a key code to get into chalet, spent 20minutes trying to find our accomodation as there was no signage. took another 20 minutes trying to get the key into the lock as the key was bent and the door was old and broken. eventually got into the chalet to find the most disgusting dirty health risk. there was no welcome information, no respect for Covid 19 as the place had obviously not been cleaned for many years. We had to go and buy cleaning products before we could unpack, unable to have a shower as that was beyond cleaning, bathroom floor was stained yellow and there was a permanent leak. the kitchen had not seen a cleaning product or cloth for many years. The fridge had rust on it and the oven did not work. There was grime in the shower cubicle and kitchen, the windows were disgusting and the rubber seals were hanging off. There was cobwebs everywhere and the dining room table was beyond cleaning, had to place large pieces of cardboard over it just to be able to use it. The place felt damp and the mattress were ready for the dump. No wifi, reception said that they had asked people if they wanted it and everyone said NO!. light switches and door frames where covered in finger prints and grease. It was obvious that no effort or care had been taken to welcome guests, money was all the owners wanted. One visit stays and no returns is the outcome for this place. The owners need to be held accountable to Environmental Health and Public Health England, and more so in the climate in which we are living. It was clear to see and smell that they have no care or consideration for peoples health or understanding of Covid.!!!!!
Strongly advise people not to give up their well earned money.
