The hotel was in a great location close to the beach and places of interest. All the staff were friendly, very cheerful, and were more than happy to help, rooms were very warm and clean. The meals were traditional and plentiful, the waiters and waitresses were efficient and polite. I don't why some of the previous reviews were so negative.

This is our second day at this hotel with alpha travel and cannot fault the hotel and staff at all ! The previous reviews were very negative and gloriously unfounded! The staff are friendly and professional I know we’re only 2 days into our break but good vibes so far

Well where do I start , Basil Faulty has got more manners than that young lady on reception. I heard her criticising guests on arrival , “what is wrong with this lot , do they not understand single file “ o yes we understand single file that’s why we were stood outside in the cold waiting to book in . Our heating wasn’t working, same daft girl said “yes it’s on a timer “ so I asked well what time does the timer come on “don’t know “was the reply . Very helpful, not . After 2 days of being freezing in the attic rooms it was sorted . And yes after saying beforehand I can’t do stairs as I’m riddled with arthritis we got the 23 stairs from hell around a bend after vacating the lift at floor 5 . Yes low floor was requested and paid upgrade of £70 for the week but we were up in the gods again . The shower screen wouldn’t meet in the middle then fell off altogether, my husband fixed that on his hand and knees . Back to the young dark haired girl with glasses again on reception, some guests phoned after a fire alarm to ask if it was a test , she politely answered then back to her sarcasm after she put the phone down . “Would I really be answering this phone if there was a fire “ . Having said that I hardly spent any time in the lounge so maybe she had a half hr where she was almost human . To sum up , bathroom was filthy , rooms serviced most days . At least we had a sea view for the £70 upgrade . Meals were ok , restaurant staff were quite quick . And 5 stars go to the lovely tall lad serving drinks , thank good someone was there to make it a lovely stay lol .

This is one of the Leisureplex hotels belonging to Alfa Travel and most guests are here on a coach tour. The hotel is a lovely position overlooking the North Bay, castle and harbour and just a short walk to the town centre. To ease pressure on the kitchens, there were two sittings for breakfast and dinner. I was on the last for both. Waiting staff were efficient and tried hard to serve you quickly. However, breakfast could be slow if staff were going round serving tea and coffee to the tables. The menus are typical of all Leisureplex hotels and regular visitors know what to expect. There is always a reasonable choice. They do tend to be ‘school dinners’ rather than Haute Cuisine’. Portion sizes are possibly smaller than in the past (a result of increasing costs and trying to work to the very small budget from Alfa) but I never left feeling hungry. On the 7pm sitting, we didn’t experience problems with food running out. Staff often didn’t have time to reset tables between servings and a tray with cutlery and crockery was left on each table. The hotel is an absolute rabbit warren inside and it isn't always logical where the rooms are. There is a lift but once it has been called it will continue to go up (or down) even if you want to go the opposite way! Many of the rooms have been refurbished and are very pleasant. I was allocated room 13 which was a very nice room with a large bathroom with large walk in shower. However, it was up a short flight of stairs, through an unmarked fire door and in a short corridor opposite the gent's toilet. I must admit I wasn’t too happy about that but decided that as Alfa customers tend to be of a ‘certain age’ I wasn’t likely to get disturbed by too many drunken males. BUT, I hadn’t reckoned for the entertainer.... the noise was so loud that it sounded as if he was in the room with me. I had to ask reception to move me. I was moved to a room on the top floor. This has still to be refurbished and wasn’t such a nice room but was QUIET - almost eerily so! The shower was old fashioned and controlled by turning the two taps. It was very difficult to adjust the temperature especially as this varied with water pressure and if someone else was using water. At the price Alfa charge, this hotel is good value. It isn’t perfect and there are areas for improvement. Just avoid room 13 (or any others near the bar ) if you don’t like loud music!

Visited on Alfa coach trip last Wednesday 5-9th of October 2022 just got back. Well don’t know where to start! Room G5 behind the reception was a lovely new room with large bathroom with large walk in shower, no complaints with that. But the food and service was the worst I have ever had and this is my 5th trip with Alfa. The hotel needs more staff especially in the dining room the tables were never set from the last sitting, they did two sittings 6-7 then we were in 7 pm sitting which I think is a little late but tea and coffee wasn’t served in the dining room you had to go to the lounge and serve yourself from a flask (which was stewed) so we didn’t bother we went back to our room to make our own at least it was hot. The food choices especially the dish of the day was a joke! Sausage n mash, chicken curry, but no chicken in it just mushrooms! We asked for Roly poly for dessert one night only to be told there wasn’t any but it was on the menu that morning, I suspected the 6 pm sitting had eaten it all then we asked for fruit salad only to be told they had run out . So I had cheese n biscuits but it was all blue cheese which isn’t a popular choice so had the biscuits left the cheese. Everybody was moaning as they ran out of food which is very bad. Then one day after a tour we got back to our bedroom to find a set of master keys dangling in our door lock and found our bedroom unlocked plus all our landing was also unlocked! I reported the incident asap to reception asked to see the manager was told they had both gone home! Next morning no manager came to see us, all in all Alfa really needs to go and pay this hotel a visit just to try and sort out all these issues otherwise don’t waste your money. Tenby is a lovely resort but unfortunately it was over shadowed by this hotel experience.

Room no 4!. View is a wall. No light gets in, therefore very cold late in the day. No heating. Told receptionist, who could only keep repeating like a parrot, 'Heating is on a timer'. Very ignorant and uncooperative. Supervisor appeared and said she would come up to our room to check ( that it was cold!!). Never arrived. So the evening was spent either getting warm on the towel rail or wrapped up in coats & jumpers. No Heating at all!!!!. One cannot deal with rude staff who are not prepared to help. An otherwise good holiday was marred by being cold in our room and rude staff at reception. Will not be using Alfa tours again.

I have just returned from a stay at this hotel . When I booked in I was told by reception the room I was in was on the second floor but when you get in the lift you are actually on the forth floor. The hotel is a rat run of corridors and stairs you never can tell where you may be in the hotel. The restaurant can be hit and miss you may get served quick or just sit and wait to the staff can be bothered to serve you. The portions of food can be small and you will feel like you won the lottery if you get toast in the morning that is slightly warm. The major thing this hotel has going for it is the location overlooking the beach and harbour. I also noticed the hotel is not wheelchair friendly, narrow corridors steps on all floors a lift that will only hold two non obese people.

Sadly this isn't up to standard expected on a Alfa Travel Holiday So very disappointed. The hotel itself is great paid for a room with a view and the view is fantastic. . Sadly that's it the food wasn't great nor the service the staff wondering about with no order. Normally you get a allocated waiter/waitress to your table but not here it was chaotic with absolutely no order. Breakfast asked for toast none came asked for a drink of tea no tea. The quality of food poor staff rude and seemed angry that we'd asked for something that was on the menu The same in the evening meal. Asked for a change of towels at reception in the morning but on our return from a day trip still no towels so asked again at reception only to be snapped at by staff member who said **we've had a coach party** that we had to book in we should get round to it but it might be tomorrow that you get them

Manager and staff were generally friendly. The food was adequate. Nothing special, especially the specials which need improvement. Room was very clean and the sea view was great. I highly recommend Alfa Travel in general but this hotel still needs improvement. Signage to/from the restaurant was very poor.
