Overall we had a great stay. The hotel is spotless with some lovely touches. Beautiful inside and out, original character is maintained to a high standard and the spa is gorgeous. Lovely facilities and treatments available. Food was hit and miss. Breakfast to the room was disappointing. Continental option consisted of one croissant and no butter or jams, although more...

Stayed for one night, a treat from the family. A pretty hotel with a very nice atmosphere in the bar, conservatory and restaurant. Friendly staff and extremely helpful. Our room No.12 was small but spotless and the bed linen of good quality. The bed was very comfortable, like sleeping in a cloud. The bathroom was very nice with a walk...

This Hotel was specially chosen, as we last stayed here 25 years ago and loved it then. This time we gathered together as a family for our 60th wedding anniversary, and despite the years between, it was even better than ever. Various modernising bits have happened, but still the atmosphere and charm of this amazing old place has been cherished....

Anticipated a walking weekend to get fit but the weather was awful. No matter, the swimming pool and amenities provided all we needed. Room was superlative: four poster bed, wood panelling, huge bathroom and beautiful decor. The atmosphere is relaxing - just right for jaded winter spirit - with corners and nooks in which to relax throughout. The food was...

Dear UltravoxUk, We are delighted to hear your weekend visit was such a success, despite the weather ruining the opportunity to walk through the beautiful South Downs. I am glad you enjoyed your superlative bedroom, the food, the wine list as well as the wonderfully relaxed atmosphere of the House. Thank you for your wonderful review. Best wishes, J-J Pollak...

This was a last minute booking on a business trip. 2 observations: I ordered room service and the chicken and avocado salad was as good as you get. Secondly, every member of staff, without exception, was friendly and gets the concept of hospitality and made it a warm and friendly experience

My partner and I have stayed at this hotel three times and we really like it. It offers excellent value for money in comparison to the other Historic Sussex hotels which are a much more pricey. “We stayed in the Courtyard suite it was very comfortable. Everything was very clean and bright. Tea making facilities, television and wi fi . We also had iron ironing board and a trouser press all there for our use. We used the Spa facilities pool sauna steam room and jacuzzi. This made our stay very enjoyable. We will definitely return.”
