Friends were in the area and hadn't seen them for a long time. Chose to meet here, it is the sister pub to the Londesborough in Seemed which I have used a bit. Warm welcoming atmosphere on arrival, sadly driving so didn't sample the beers on offer. The place was rammed which explains why we couldn't book a table in...

Can't complain about the food it's good home cooked pub food, the Sunday Carvery is delicious, my one complaint is the price of the drinks it is expensive, however the food is very reasonable. It gets very busy at times especially on a Sunday

Visited 3 times over course of a week staying nearby. Fantastic food, good atmosphere and good service every time. Best to book though as very busy especially Friday nights and weekend. Only about 1.5 mile from North York |Moors Railway station which is also excellent.

Not happy with the staff or service when we pooped in for a drink. Approx 5 staff stood around either looking at smart phone or looking at the accounts. No one behind the bar. Waited approx 5 mins when I approached a member of staff "excuse me but is there anyone serving at the bar.... " reply. I'll be one...

**Review for restaurant only** Visited here earlier this week as we were after a place to stop for dinner while on holiday in the area. Most pubs we found on Google served "posh" food, we wanted a traditional menu which is what led us to The Black Bull. Walked in to be greeted by a cosy log fire which was...

We were staying on the blackball caravan park ,went on the first night for some food ,we were so impressed we ate there every evening . Our meals were very well presented and exceptionally tasty all home cooked . The food and bar prices were very reasonable ,all the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Lovely atmosphere. Best meal in a Yorkshire pudding ever. Staff were very helpful. Helps being dog friendly. If you are in the area well worth a visit. A brilliant Campsite situated behind the pub. We will call again in the future.
