Hotel is near the city center and easy to reach by foot. Excellent food and service. Spacious and clean room and bathroom. Matrasses are on the soft side for me personally, but still really comfortable.

The hotel is a short walk from the town centre, the room was clean and comfy with all you needed. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was nice and the food in the on site restaurant was very tasty

Stayed here before exactly one year ago in a room near the top of the building and was genuinely impressed by the £51 price tag that time, but on my return, I opted for an executive room. Unfortunately, the room is on the corner or the hotel on the ground floor, which is adjacent to a busy set of traffic...

Stayed for 2 nights during a three week working trip to Hartlepool. We decided to move away from Travel Lodge as it was poor, but I'm really glad we had chosen The Douglas Hotel. Very clean and well maintained rooms, comfy bed and great breakfast/evening meals. Really can't fault it and will certainly be staying again on our next trip.

Excellent hotel and great food. Clean throughout and has everything you need. Good size rooms throughout the hotel. I have basically lived at this hotel over the last 9 weeks for work. Well priced for both and would happily book again if Im back down.

For the price (£45 inc breakfast) - a clean, well presented room 12mins walk from the station. I arrived at 9:45pm and was lucky to check in - so, if running late inform the place. Greeted nicely, and, so far, so good. TV, Wifi, shower and Tea/coffee facility all available. Breakfast 7am-9pm Right... Off to bed
