Arrived early morning to a lovely couple, who were very welcoming and have just took over this place. Stayed in a new decorated room (room 3)which had a 43inch smart tv with free Netflix, Usb charging points in sockets. Room was immaculate. They told me all rooms will be like this at one point, but all have smart TVs in...

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. It was rather tired in the interior area, but it was comfortable. No vegetarian options were offered at breakfast despite being advised beforehand that I was veggie and that all supermarkets offer cheap veggie sausage. I was woken very early 6am by doors banging. This place is cheap the hosts are friendly but...

This was our second stay and we're sad to say Gillian and Steven are leaving. Last time we stayed our room had just been decorated but now -a few years later- its looking a bit sorry for itself. However that made no difference to the fact that the friendliness and helpfulness of the hosts is second to none. It's the...

We stayed as a couple with young adult family in other rooms. The rooms are very spacious and, for example with bunk beds in our room, can obviously accommodate a family with younger children. All rooms seem to have sea views which is a lovely feature. Mostly however the best part of the Rothbury is the personal service offered by...

I stayed here for a couple of weeks while working in the area, I've stayed in a number of b&b's but this place will live long in the memory. The rooms are very cosy and decorated individually, warm and comfortable. The owners Gill and Steve are lovely and very welcoming and create a place that isn't home but somewhere you...
