The Stella is absolutely cracking value, the Sunday carvery is the best in the north east for the money, we come every single weekend and are yet to be disappointed. The rooms in the chimneys are also good value - highly recommended!

I stayed at the Chimneys hotel with my three sisters as we were attending a school reunion in nearby Peterlee..I stayed in a twin room it was a typically old fashioned room no frills but very clean. I was surprised that there wasnt a shower just bath but as we were only staying one night this wasnt too much of...

Cannot speak highly enough of this place. We had a family funeral here today. The staff could not be more accommodating, food was amazing. We where looked after all day, enough could not have been done for our family. Although a sad occasion, I would definitely come back on a social visit. Nice clean pub, toilet facilities are great, every...

This hotel is cheap and cheerful, you get what you pay for. We paid £60 for 1 night for me and my partner which I think was reasonable, that includes breakfast. Private parking is available. All staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was very nice and our room was clean and airy. The only downside was the slamming doors....

We wanted to try a real English b&b travelling to Scotland. The neighbourhood was a little bit distressing and the hotel building also. There was a bad smell inside, and everything looked worn out. Room was spacious, but the wifi was very poor upstairs. The real shock was the bathroom. There is no shower only a bathtub and separate taps...

I travel up and down the country every week and this hotel definitely goes on our preferred list. The staff couldnt be more helpful or friendly. The rooms are very clean and well equipped. The food is excellent. All round one of the best finds in a long time. Looking forward to working in the area again. Mark Ash Jack
