Visited for an anniversary break. Our expectations were exceeded. We were in Penhelig House which is an amazing apartment with lounge/diner, bedroom and 2 huge bathrooms. The view was stunning and the weather was glorious for the whole 3 days. Not a huge amount to do in Aberdyfi in late November but we ate each night in the restaurant where... More

We stayed for 1 night at the Penhelig Arms on 26th November. We emailed before booking to ask if it was a pet friendly hotel as we were travelling with our 2 (rather large) dogs and were assured that doge were welcome. Upon booking (also through a Travelzoo deal) we were given a free upgrade to a bigger room to... More

We too were a Travelzoo deal. First time to Aberdovey, and the Penhelig Arms was great, nicely situated, a good place to stay. Loved it! Great room (upgrade to Benhelig) staff very friendly, food overall good, Will definitely return in the summer. Out of season a lot of places closed but once in Penhelig we were happy! Took train to... More

We had booked 2 nights stay B &B with Travelzoo. The hotel was overlooking the sea with fabulous views across the estuary. We were upgraded to Penhelig House. This was a modern lofthouse apartment on two floors overlooking the estuary. It was stunning. The bar was popular with the locals as well as hotel guests which made 'early doors' very... More

Called in mid week for supper. Already quite busy and very good atmosphere. Both our meals were most enjoyable and service was brisk and helpful. Recommend the pasta with Chorizo and Prawn. Local beer well kept.

2 night stay in Room 1 which was large and very comfortable. We were also able to bring our dog for an extra £10 per night. A clean dog bed, towels and feeding bowls were in the room on our arrival. Breakfast was delicious...lots of choice...too much to list here! We ate dinner in the hotel both nights...again, lots of... More

Spent a couple of nights here on a recent visit to Aberdyfi. After seeing some of the reviews on here I was a bit apprehensive, particularly due to comments regarding staff. I must say that without exception, each and every one of them were polite and attentive to my needs. The food was of excellent quality, though I must say... More
