My partner and I spent a few days in County Down and we were over the moon to discover the Salty Dog. What a fab place. First of all the staff are just so friendly and helpful and that made us return on our second night but it was also just a chilled out place to spend our evening's. The... More

Had a lovely stay here with my wife and our Airdale Izzy. It is not only a dog friendly hotel but also a people friendly hotel. We were all made very welcome and we will definitely be back . Service and food were excellent.

We had a fabulous meal here using our LivingSocial vouchers for the wife and I, and paying separately for our daughter's meal. The food was delicious and the portions huge. I recommend the seafood chowder. What really stands out about this place is that when using the vouchers there was no restriction on the starter or main course from the... More

I recently dined here on a Friday night with my partner. We had a breadboard to start with butters and oils followed by steak for mains. Everything was presented beautifully and tasted fabulous. Can't wait to return thanks salty dog.

We had a delightful meal as part of the living social deal, staff were friendly and the service was brilliant, very attentive. We had a lovely window seat and there was plenty to choose on the menu within the deal, very much enjoyed the glass of prosecco that came with the deal, very good value for money, would recommend.

We arrived with our Yorkshire Terrier and we were made feel welcome. I booked a superior room and was upgraded to a delux room. The view was amazing and it was comfortable. The biscuits were home made and all facilities were amazing. Our dog was able to eat with us in the lounge. He was given a mat, water and... More

Great location, with nice views. Waiters where nice but service was a little slow. I purchased a deal from living social for myself and my wife. I felt like they treated us a little worse because they already had the purchase. I ordered the Irish lamb at 5.40 but was told they had just sold the last two. Seemed strange... More

This is our third visit to The Salty Dog within the past 6 weeks. We have considered going elsewhere but wondered if there would be any point as the staff are so attentive and courteous and the food, outstanding. I had the trout starter tonight - served as a main course which was, 'No problem at all', to the chef.... More

Always enjoy the Salty Dog. The menu is excellent and the food never disappoints. Lots of local produce and great, relaxed atmosphere. Great service too - highly recommend. Thanks to Johnny and Daniel for great service tonight!

Not too bad a place. Staff a little aloof. No real pleasantries, but nicely turned out. Modern decor which really in keeping with a maritime name. Place was a little dirty, as floor and tables not cleaned or cleared. There is a little seating area outside. However, the majority of the outside space was covered in bird muck. Suggest the...
