Lovely Hotel with excellent view of the lake, a little hard to find as you think your climbing forever but well worth it. Room was good & staff very friendly. Has a small shop in hotel to cater for basics. Plenty of parking outside, not secure but I had no worries leaving my motorbike there as its very peaceful.

After all the reviews I must admit I don't share the common opinion. I've arrived to the hotel based on the wonderful recommendations I've read here only to be disappointed with the standard of the rooms. I was so puzzled that I went to check the other rooms with the house keeper when she was cleaning, only to find that there are 2 types of rooms: new, renovated modern style rooms and old 70's style rooms (like the one I've stained in). Speaking to the owner, he stated they are in the process of renovating the rest of the rooms in the next year. In my room there's no full size mirror, no place to put the suitcase, the bathroom is uncomfortable with some mold in the shower and some spiderwebs in the windows. No ventilation in the bathroom and very hard to open the bathroom window. The towels are thin and not soft. The rooms have a mountain view not of the lake. There's no real place to sit in the lobby, read a book and enjoy the scenery as the entrance to the hotel is actually the restaurant bar. You are about 15 kms from the lake, about 35 minutes from Bellagio and 45 minutes from Como. The breakfast is continental and is served in the hotel restaurant. With all that said I think it's a decent average place when you don't raise your expectations to high. Carlo, the son of the owners is very kind and always there to provide assistance. Overall I hope my stay contributed to the family's earnings and that with more people doing so, they could afford to remodel the rest of the hotel.

Wow it was scary getting up there with all those curvy roads. Even my husband was like where on earth are we going. But it had such great reviews I had to try it being a foodie. Well luckily I was pleasantly surprised when we got there. The view and the room wow. The room was newly renovated (smelling of new furniture) and super spacious. The bathroom had ample towels and soap. The family was just as welcoming as everyone writes. This was worth every mile and penny. They even remembered our table from the night before and had it set up for breakfast for us even though we rolled out of bed later than anticipated. Nothing was too much trouble it was an amazing experience all around and I strongly recommend a stay here for passing by or longer. You will not regret it.
