My husband and I planned on staying here for 3 nights and ended up for 7. The rooms are spacious, clean and have great common areas to meet other travellers and hang out in the pool. It also has a fully equipped kitchen and has surf boards to rent with connections to book surf lessons. From hanging out in the...

We stayed here completely by chance, because our shuttle dropped off across the street. Regular dorm beds were $8 US and filtered water was included. There is a small kitchen available for guest use. I didn't eat the food here so I can't speak to that, but the pool was awesome and there was ample chill space to hang out....

Papayas lodge itself is great! Rooms are super clean, the amenities are well thought through and the staff is really nice. I recommend the lodge to everyone and myself would stay there again HOWEVER, their shuttle service was horrid. When we booked it the hotel manager promised it would take us all the way to our hotel. At Start the...

Rooms are standard enough with either fan or AC. Bathrooms are clean and tidy. Kitchen is a little less to be desired, but if you eat out, there's no problem then. The hostel provide cooks if you don't wanna eat out or cook your own food. Has a pool, and surfboard rental. Hammocks and tv room as well. Can't really...

Papaya lodge was a great place to stay, situated right in the middle of El Tunco. The food was good there even if on the slightly expensive side for El Salvador. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast burrito. Rooms were clean and the hammock area upstairs was a great place to relax after surfing.

We enjoyed our stay at Papaya's. The rooms were large and priced equivalent to anywhere else in town. The fact that there was free water, wifi, and lots of places to relax both in the shade and the sun are all good points. However, the kitchen was a little dirty - we have to say that a lot of this...

Great hostel. It was low season but it was still full and vibey. The room was really clean and the little pool helps a lot as there isn't really a swimming beach. The beers are the same price as the ones on the street which makes life easier. The wifi is very poor when there are loads of people on...

We stayed in a double room for 5 nights and while there are some positives at this hostel, it's not worth the money. It has a nice pool, it's very central, there are lots of hammocks and the rooms are big enough and modern. However the staff are not friendly at all, the kitchen is filthy and our room wasn't...

Average place, very expensive for what you get (private room) decent lounge area decent pool, the bar and restaurant area is ok and average price, there's a good atmosphere and a ok kitchen, the down side is the wifi, it's shocking, none existent in the room and very iffy in the common areas, if it wasn't for the social side...

Papaya is a fun little hostel to use as a base of exploration for El Tunco and the surrounding area. Centrally located, it has easy access to the beach, the nearby surf shops, the bus station by the main road, and a Craft Beer Bar is just down the block!
