Everything about this hotel is generous. The rooms, the bed, the portions in the restaurant and of course the people. This was our second visit and the room was even nicer than last year. Excellent quality food in very generous portions. Luckily there are many...More

Stayed overnight when passing through the area. The rooms were very warm and comfortable, while the bar and restaurant very inviting. The food was excellent and all the staff very friendly. Would recommend!

Hi there, we loved our stay at The Cheviot, but in all honesty you might be better elsewhere! I have a good knowledge of MS as I was the secretary of our local MS support branch for over 25yrs and therefore am aware of access, walking etc; areas of difficulty. There is no on-site parking, and it's a case of just parking as near to the pub/hotel as you can. The actual approach to the door although relatively short is quite steep, and once inside most of the floors are very uneven (very old pub) All accommodation is upstairs, and there is no lift.
As I said....we had a most enjoyable stay in a lovely room! The staff and the food were superb......but I really feel any difficulty in walking could pose a problem.
