I stayed here a few weeks ago. The owners are extremely unfriendly unless you are Italian it seems, they tried to overcharge me when I left. When I questioned the extra charges the woman I was dealing with suddenly decided she spoke no English. They hire the pool area to groups of children, who come and stay all day and bring their own sound-systems and pool toys, so there isn't a quiet moment. I couldn't go in the pool at all as there were over 12 children in and around it at any one time. We asked them to turn the music down but it always went back up within a few minutes. There were also loud parties at night two of the four nights. She has no respect for hotel guests. To top it off the bathroom for my room had not been cleaned. And I won't share the details. There are plenty of nicer, quieter, more friendly hotels nearby. Air con in the rooms doesn't work. There are no shops or restaurants nearby, so it's not a great location if you suddenly find you can't spend the day by the pool. Ruined my holiday.

Response from Director S, Direttore generale at Casa La Querce Bed & Breakfast

- There is a report by police attesting that you wanted to rob us leaving without paying. You went into the car locking and ready to escape and even the police could not get you out of the car. Furthermore you have invited your friends to the pool without even noticing us and drunk and eaten ice cream, then denying that. We think it's pretty enough to show your wrong behavior. The google profile of your travel map shows every place you have visited were not good. Always, strange isn't it? Now we understand why. We recommend that you read about who has spent with us and in our structure a pleasant vacation, visiting not far from here, cities like Florence, Pisa, Lucca ... That maybe you have never even heard of. Good luck!!

Nice pool, and nice authentic town with almost no foreign tourists. But. Unbelievable warm apartment, not at all friendly staff, and really, really loud music almost every night due to private parties arranged on site. Some nights this left us with nowhere to be except in our extremely warm apartment with the music so loud that talking was challenging. Kind of hilarious to think about that we actually paid money to stay there ...

The owner runs a restaurant together with the Bed & Breakfast, which are rented out to numerous private parties. We stayed there for almost one week and have been through 3 birthday parties, one wedding and 1 company party. We cleared out of the establishment this morning and moved to a hotel, 2 days early, just to get away from it all. There are no private areas for overnight guests to sit outside. When we arrived the owner pointed out one spot that was ours to use, but she also used this spot for her private functions throughout the week. This leaves overnight guests to find some space outside to sit. Sometimes the private functions take all space, so once the private parties are started you are confined to your room. Rooms are also very close to the restaurant, so it is also difficult to shut these parties out. This creates a very difficult situation when you have kids that go to bed quite early. This is mostly because the music is so loud, but also due to loud talking and shouting. Music usually stops around midnight, but the Italian after-party usually do not end until 1-2 am. The rooms have a small kitchen area which is very ill equipped. The only wine-glasses we could find, were two disposable plastic champagne glasses. This is kind of funny, since this is a vacation spot in Tuscany. Also the general state of the property is terrible, and things are generally falling apart. When we were there, a key broke in the lock of one door, another door got stuck, the back of a chair disintegrated when we first sat down on it and parts of the railing in the pool area fell down after my son barely touched it. There are also some strange rules at this place. Firstly the air-condition in the apartment must be set to 24 degrees, and must be switched off when leaving the room. This means that during summer you will not be able to get the temperature below 30 degrees in certain parts of the apartment. Secondly all guests must wear a swimming cap in the pool. No swimming cap is offered, neither is any information on how to get one. Out of all the basic things a vacation place needs, this has very little. In addition it is like living on top of a night club. I see that this place has got a few great reviews. I cannot imagine how this has happened.
