We wanted to stay one night in the region and came across this hotel on the Booking.com site. We reviewed, as one does, the rooms and conditions etc. and were won over with the photo of a nice room stating that it had internet and a TV - but alas once there, we were shown to a little room in the cellar region of the hotel that was no more than 12 sq. meter - just room enough to squeeze around the side of the bed. No need to say that there was no internet and no TV. I shall not describe the tiny shower area - I'll leave that to your imagination. We complained at the bar to the same older lady, that did not speak German or English, in our broken Italian, that the room was tiny, but she only shrugged her shoulders at us. On the subject of the TV and internet, she abruptly pointed over her shoulder to the TV behind the bar. We did not stay and left the building. We travelled up the mountain to a B&B that we liked in Cavagnavo, Bertazzi. Please see my review on this lovely place.

We chose this hotel largely because of it's location to break up a long drive. It far exceeded our expectations. It sits way up above the highway and you must take a long, narrow road comprised of one sharp turn after another to get to it, but the views are lovely. Rooms are simple, but very clean and comfortable.

My husband and I were hiking across Ticino and decided to book here. We expected it to be something basic . . . boy were we surprised! The room was large and inviting, very clean, tremendous views, private (new) bathroom, very comfortable bed. The owners were incredibly friendly -- spoke Italian, but we muddled through; the meals were fresh and good (garden fresh salad!). It is a small village, but beautiful, friendly and peaceful. Couldn't have had a better stay!

WOW-if you like places that are a little different a more intimate hotel then this could be for you, we stayed one night as we travelled around Switzerland first thing i must warn you Anzonico is very hard to find the road that takes you up is narrow and winds its way up the side of the mountain but its worth the drive anzonico is a very small hamlet with amazing views down into the valley below and across into the mountains on the other side. the hotel room was clean and well presented we had a room with a balcony which meant we could sit with our wine and just soak in the views the little restaurant downstirs had a nice outdoor eating area the owners dont speak english but we muddled through ok would highly recommend if you want something less corporate

First i must say it is great location, uphill with breathtaking views, beautiful nature and fresh air. You can walk to the church nearby in front or which is bench and you can enjoy sunset and watching stars. That is why the grade is not even lower. Room is small, basic, creaky floor, it looks like Spartan room:) There were so many mosquito so we could not sleep well. Breakfast was disaster, only butter and marmalade and little cheese. Not even juice. Maybe with Spartan room comes Spartan breakfast:)
