I went to Zugarramurdi and was lucky enough to stay at this hotel on top of the Hill. It was a little hard to find, but Tony the Owner emailed us the directions after I made my reservation. me and my fiancee were the only guest at the hotel due to off season. It felt as though we had the...

Liked: The location - deep in the countryside with breathtaking view towards the coast. The room - rustic and comfortable. The owners - Toni & Virginia treated us like family. The food - simple excellent breakfast and home-cooked evening meal both served on the terrace with views of the countryside and mountains. If you don't like animals this isn't for...

Three of us had a great time staying at Casa Rural Haitzetxea. It's a bit outside of town but Tony gives great directions. It's like you have your own mountain getaway. Tony and Virginia have a great place - nice rooms and welcome their guests with a great breakfast, home cooked dinners and good conversation and advice on what to...

Tony and Virginia certainly turned it on for our group. They were absolutely wonderful hosts, who provided us with a plentiful supply of fresh fruit for all of us fruitbats, and first-rate cuisine prepared in the guesthouse kitchen from fresh garden produce........ although the chooks were on strike. Tony also kept us well-supplied with very good wines and some deadly...

The rooms are spotless, meals are cooked with your preferences in mind and our hosts were always flexible in regard to when we ate because of our sightseeing etc. it is hidden away but you GPS will get you there and if not...

The accomodation is set in stunning countryside with magnificent walks all around the surrounding hills (steep hills). The remoteness of the location adds to its appeal. The owners V(B)irginia and Tony could not be more welcoming and both were able to speak English well, together with Spanish, French and, of course Basque. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced...

We were greatest by a boisterous trio of dogs that announced our arrival as we approached the property. This gave owner Tony the word that guests were in the parking area. He spoke enough English, (spanish, french and basque), to acquaint us with our accommodations and show us around. Given its distance from town we'd planned to take dinner there-...
