Good typical British pub food. I had suet pudding, mash and veg. Plenty of it and enjoyed it. Good choice of beer. Pleasant village lots of little shops, narrow streets and haphazard parking. Have to go and lie down now and sleep it off.

Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was good, everything was cooked fresh. All staff were very friendly and service was first class. It is located just off the Main Street in Brightlingsea and easy to find.

We Googled to find a room in Brightlingsea as we needed an early start at the Marina Saturday. I phoned through at 6pm, very good response from the bar staff, took my card details and said see you when you get here. We had room 2 in the annexe which was very clean and nice lighting, good telly, nice bathroom....

We stayed in room 5 of the B & B for one night after visiting friends. The room was comfortable enough but when using the shower the next morning i received an electric shock from the shower and of course couldn't then use it. The owner didn't even apologise when I told him what had happened nor did he offer...

Thank you for your review. I remember the incident well and as I explained at the time I thought it was static that caused the "shock" as I couldnt see how you could get a shock from a part of a shower that is not connected to any metal piping and is protected by a functioning RCD. As promised at...

We wanted somewhere close to the sailing club booked in for 4 nights. Room and ensuite spotless. Breakfasts just right amount and the owners very happy to serve at times that suited us (all 5 rooms were taken by those competing in nationals) Rooms in annexe attached to Brewers Arms which is a nice traditional local English Pub happily catering...

We are currently rowing around the UK 2,500 miles. After a gruelling 12 hour rower one of the crew went down with sever sea sickness, dehydration and hypothermia. After being picked up by the coastguard and spending a few hours in A&E we needed a great place to rest and recover before continuing. The Brewers arms was the perfect place...

Stayed in single room for three nights, very enjoyable all round. The room and en-suite shower room were immaculate, the staff very pleasant and I was very grateful that the room was warm and cosy as temperatures outside were very chilly.

Had to stay over for an extra couple of night and was bookef in to the Brewers Arms. Was pleasantly surprised at the room size and cleanliness of the rooms. Very freindly atmosphere in the bar. Didn't get a chance to try the breakfast because I had to leave early for work but did hear it was spot on. Great...

i have traveled many places on my trips around Europe while traveling to different offshore windfarms and this place is at the top of my list for comfort and friendliness. As I couldn't attend breakfast because of early morning starts the landlady and landlord would supply a fully kitted out lunch which was very much appreciated. I have never had...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Brewers Arms is a 17th century grade 2 listed building in the centre of Brightlingsea. The B&B is situated in a separate, grade 2 listed, 19th century, refurbished building next door. It is well appointed and very cosy. Each guest will have a key to the front door on their room keyring, which allows for unrestricted access to the B&B and also provides security as only staff and guests can open the front door. With the pub in such close proximity there's no need to go anywhere else for a drink and our restaurant is now open for lunches only as well as breakfast for our guests. We have ironing facilities in the B&B. There is a carpark at the rear of the Pub main building which is fully covered by cctv. ... more   less
