Our stay at TdA was wonderful and memorable. The accommodation is basic wooden huts on stilts, with "four poster" style mosquito nets that seem to do their job. It's a bit dark and stuffy in the rooms in the longhouse (which is where we stayed), but that didn't bother us as we spent all our time exploring the coastline. The...

We came here on a school trip and had a great time. Our 6 year old had so much fun! The site is in the jungle and very charming. Whether or not it is authentic I couldn't possibly evaluate, but a lot of fun! The host, Howard, was absolutely perfect in the way he taught and cared for his guests....

I had an amazing three night stay here. Days consisted of lazying away on the beach at the Tip Top restaurant, snorkelling, mingling with other guests, and eating delicious food. At night I stayed in the newly built longhouse and went to sleep and woke up to the sounds of the jungle. Great stay. Howard is an incredible host who...

Had an amazing time at Tampat Do Aman, with my 2 friends. Howard (The host) was really accomodating whenever you saw him, he's got a big heart and doing a lot of good things for the local community. The accomodation itself was really nice, bamboo long houses all made by the staff and volunteers and open roof showers so you...

I really was searching for a place in Southeast Asia like Thailand back 20 years ago, and I finally found it. Think acres of fine white beach all to just the dozen people staying here usually and a scattering of local fishing boats. Our obliging host, Howard has laid on lots of things to do, but this really is a...

I went there for 4 days in September expecting to enjoy many of the onsite activities on offer. The outdoor jungle bathroom had not been cleaned once during my time and rubbish were all over the sink (there was no bin). The owner was away at the time, maybe it made a difference. I was checked in in a dirty...

If you go to tampat do aman there is no reason to go back home or elsewhere... The host is super friendly and very helpful. The beaches at the tip of Borneo are super clean and there are hardly no guests, so we could walk on the beach for two hours without meeting anybody else. The food at the tip...

Tampat Do Aman is not only a great place to experience the dense jungle, traditional style house, and sustainable tourism. By staying here you also support plenty of important projects that Howard carries around Rungus village. These include nature conservation and community development (among others) so give some support! The beach is truly amazing, undisturbed and relaxing. Just use some...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome friends. At the Tip of Borneo lies an Eco resort and jungle camp called Tampat Do Aman. In the local Rungus language this means "a place of friends".We are located by the only road that leads to this phenomenally beautiful coastline that stretches from the Tip of Borneo 10km to the south, incorporating eight of the best beaches Sabah has to offer. The area really is a jewel in the crown of Sabah. In Tampat Do Aman Tip of Borneo you will find : A Jungle camp (Traditional Rungus long House), A beach front restaurant and Bar (“Tip Top”) and an activities center. If you are a nature lover like us then there is lots to do here in Tip of Borneo. Our activities center offers bicycles and snorkeling gear for rent. There are different trekking and night tours happening and you can even take a course in Jungle Survival. ... more   less
