Rebecca and Phillip are amazing hosts that took care of every single detail of our stay during the 3 nights we were with them. They set up breakfast every morning in our bedroom, had a crib for our little daughter and helped us to figure out activities to do in the region with the children. If you want to feel at home and enjoy a great time with your family in the beautiful Loire Valley, this is THE place to stay!
My wife and I have just spent a very restful week at this delightful chambre de hote set in the midst of vineyards. This wonderful gite is in the heart of the Loire/Cher valley region and is the perfect base for touring the many chateaus in the region. Chateau Chenaceau is only a few kilometers away and there are a number of excellent restaurants in nearby Monrichard, that we have visited. Hosts Phillip and Rebecca are a lovely English couple who have lived in the region for fifteen years. At the end of a long trip my wife was not very well and our hosts have gone out of their way to ensure our comfort. This is our second visit to Domaine de la Chapelle, and as with our first visit we have been accommodated on a very well appointed and tastefully decorated self contained unit.
We stayed there the summer of 2012 and again, the fall of 2018. Rebecca and Philip are the greatest hosts anyone could hope for - friendly, helpful and kind. We feel as though they are friends to stay in touch with. Our room and bathroom were large and cozy. Sitting out on our patio with a glass of wine and surrounded by their large, gorgeous yard was like being in a picture post card. The peacefulness was very welcome after doing a lot of sightseeing. They really care about their guests and treat them so. Both times we were there, they helped us with directions and choices of things to see. I wish we could go there every year.
Lovely place, lovely hosts. Upstairs in the annex/barn is a really nice suite for a family. There are restaurants ten minutes drive away and 25 gets you to a large town. Owners are English but have lived here for years so know the area and can furnish great advice. We must return! TIPS: If you go out in the evening remember to take a fob for the electric gates DO buy Rebeccas homemade jams, they're awesome. nb: Credit cards not accepted.
We stayed for three days in July and we had a wonderful time. The place is amazing, tucked away in the wonderful French countryside and a short drive from the pretty village of Faverolles sur Cher. The hosts are the nicest people in the world and keep the place clean and tidy all the time. Our room was very cosy and pretty and we had a huge bathroom all for ourselves. Cleanliness is impressive. Breakfast was good, maybe not a huge variety of choices but we were quite happy with it. Also the place was extremely quiet and there was nothing to disturb our sleep. Truly recommended.
