Amandari (meaning peaceful spirits) is located in the village of Kedewatan, on the fringe of Bali's cultural capital, Ubud. Perched on an escarpment high above the winding Ayung River gorge, this resort follows the design of a traditional Balinese village. Pebbled walkways link the thatched-roof suites, each of which has its own walled garden. Amandari provides a unique setting from which to experience the cultural richness of Bali's artistic centre as well as its mountainous region to the north.

Dear Amandari's team, dear Jann, Thank you so much for your warm welcome. Your resort is a jewel in the Ayung Valley. I tried to find a constructive and negative point, but I cannot find any. The site is maintained with love, this we can feel. I deeply appreciated the kindness

As othe Aman resort, Amandari members are all polite and serve for us with full kindness. Even the restaurant at Amandari is not famous to outsider, I really like the various meals. The location to enjoy afternoon tea is very nice to relax watching the vally on the grass.

I wonderful village feel to it- the staff could not have been more helpful. But for a 5 star resort at the nightly rate they ask for, I would suggest they need to spend some money on the resort. The wifi is pretty poor, the door knob feel off in our bathroom etc. A lovely place

Dear Lulue86 Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback on TripAdvisor. I am very disappointed to learn that we were not able to convince you entirely of our product. I wish to apologize for any inadequate situation such as the broken door knob, which had been solved immediately by our Engineering team during your stay. All areas at Amandari undergo regular service and maintenance programs. With kind regards, Jann Hess General Manager, Amandari

After months of excitement at the prospect of visiting Amandari it was not quite what I expected but still a fantastic and memorable experience. This was my second Aman stay after Aman Tokyo and in both cases I’m not sure I’ve experienced the stand-out service Aman hotels are

We were at Amandari last Spring. I don’t think the recent earthquake has impacted the property, but you might email, call or check their website. I think if there were a problem the hotel would have contacted you. Hope you enjoy your stay.

Hi Nick We dined rather than lunched. The menu is not extensive but choice, the best of local produce with a twist like smoked duck. It was sophisticated balineses food, using their own fresh produce from a vegetable garden on site. The dining room has understated elegance with a view over the main pool and frangipannis and coconut palms beyond. If you book ahead they will set up a private table on the bale which would have a more spectacular view into the valley. I can also recommend the Sawah Terrace at the Mandapa by Ritz Carlton. Perhaps a more diverse menu, very sophisticated with choice of Asian and western dishes (can recommend the squid ink noodles with prawns and the slow cooked duck) and ravishing views over the hotel grounds, the Ayung River and the jungle beyond. Tell them you want a terrace edge table when you book to get the best views. Regards and happy dining in Ubud.
