We have stayed at this pub a few times and are always made welcome! The dog friendly room is decorated nicely,. very clean and has a fab shower!( Cant remember its name!). Breakfast is always good ( too good at times!) as are evening meals. The locals in the pub really make you feel at home, and Tony the Landlord serves...

We stopped here for an overnight stay on our way home to Scotland from the South of England. This is a very quiet village and the pub doesn't open until 6pm. We were aware of this. The landlord Tony was very helpful and our room was fine. However it was small and there is very little room around the bed....

Thank you for staying with us and your feedback. Many of our guests choose to stay with us to break their long journey to or from Scotland because of our proximity to the A1 combined with our ability to offer a quiet stay in a village pub with good food, rather than a major chain hotel/ motel. As an old...

Thank you for staying with us and for your review. It is so nice to read your review, particularly when compared to the subsequent review as it highlights many of the features we feel differentiate us from the large chain hotels; individuality, good value freshly cooked local food, good Cask Marque/ Camra beers, a personal and friendly welcome from both...

Stayed for one night on my way North, delightful, scenic drive down into a valley and through a quaint old village . Landlord was very amiable and couldn't do enough. Had dinner there, good menu with plenty of choice and enjoyed my stir fry. Excellent service. Would love to spend a few days and do some exploring !!!

At very short notice, our planned overnight stay needed to include 2 young grandchildren (7&4yrs). Even though the rooms were fully booked (no room at the Inn!) We were made very welcome and our host went to some trouble to ensure we were comfortably accommodated. To such an extent that my 7 year old said it was better than his...

I have responded to your review on Booking.com and again I need to respond to your inacurate statement regarding the room keys. I explained that each room door key fits each room and the side door to the pub, allowing 24/7 access. The keys are individual to the rooms and common to the external door. Security is therefore 100%. Your...
