Detailed Reviews
My wife and I stayed at Coco Rose guest house for a week in the beginning of March. For background, we are from the U.S. and 60 years old. First, Coco Rose is on a very (very) quiet side of the island mostly residential and you will need a car. The quiet was perfect for us. The room was large – bed, small cooking area, dishware, cookware, refrigerator, bathroom – all the essentials. We had a very nice balcony overlooking the water. It is not a beach for swimming or for laying in the sand, but interesting. The room was very clean and service was provided every other day. I am not sure, but I believe you have to request an air conditioner if you want one. The rooms are only provided with window units on request which was fine with us. Rose and the others at Coco Rose were extremely friendly and helpful. Coco Rose is located about 30 minutes from English Harbor in one direction and about 30 minutes from St. John’s in the other direction. It is a perfect location to venture out. There are several small but well supplied markets located about 2/3 minutes from Coco Rose. Darkwood beach is about a 4 minute car ride away and Ffryes beach is about 6 minutes away from Coco Rose. Both of these beaches are always rated as top five beaches in Antigua. We spent just about every day at Ffryes beach. My wife and I are doing a bit of travel now and we always rate a location/stay with the simple question – would we stay here again. In the case of the Coco Rose guest house – absolutely. In fact, we are now planning our return trip for 2025. The hospitality, smiles, price, and location cannot be beat. You need something – just ask. It was a very nice vacation for us.

The experience was absolutely great. The room was facing a beautiful beach just steps away or the choice of siting on the patio and enjoying the breeze The room was big and species and very clean. The host Mr and Mrs Rose are great, and very good about getting accommodation to take you to various attractions. They also have various catering options for weddings, birthday parties etc. I would recommend staying there with no regrets.

Desperately wanting to escape COVID in the UK, I planned some time in the relatively COVID free Antigua and booked to stay at Coco Rose. I loved staying here so much so that I extended my stay by a further 6 nights. I was looking for somewhere chilled, comfortable and not too expensive and it totally ticked all the boxes. If you want to save some money by cooking yourself it has good self catering facilities. If you are looking to eat out, the location whilst not near to any restaurants is just near the bus route to get to other places. I used the buses to get around a lot. Some of the nicest beaches on the island are less than 5 minutes by bus or if you fancy stretching your legs around half an hour walk. The closest postage stamp sized beach is just outside Coco Rose. Rose herself is fantastic, a really lovely and welcoming lady. I particularly enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the sea. If you are also looking for a break during COVID times staying at Coco Rose felt very safe masks are worn all the time on the hotel grounds and Rose has set up sinks and hand sanitiser stations. Don't delay book today.

This is a total hidden gem on the island of Antigua. We've visited quite a few hotels here and Coco Rose stands out as a total haven away from the bustle and tourist traps of the rest of the island.
The rooms are very bright, airy and spacious. They come with everything you'll need from a guest house - stove, kitchenette, kettle, cutlery, fridge, desk, small dining table, and obviously full toilet/shower and a balcony (request for the beach view, it's beautiful).
The BEST part of this property is the beach. You have your own stunning PRIVATE beach. We stayed here for 2 weeks and I did not see a single other person on the beach the entire time. The water and wind is gentle (unlike some other sides of the island which are very windy), and cares reef is just opposite out in the water. This is such an overlooked feature of the property - beaches in Antigua are all technically "public" - you have a right to walk and sunbathe beach, even if its a secluded 5 star resort. That's why footfall is important, and this beach is so hidden hardly anyone on the island knows about it, giving you the feeling of total privacy and peace.
Rose and her team are so kind and caring as well, from the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcomed.
I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quite and beautiful getaway to come here and stay. You won't regret it.
It's better if you drive as its more remote than other properties (a good thing in my opinion) but you can still get to Jolly harbour and other areas within 13 minutes. There is a field for parking your car right in front of the property.
Finally it's a such a safe area, a very quiet neighbourhood and you feel at peace with the swaying palm trees and green foliage surrounding you when you arrive.
We can't wait to return!

A small and beautifully appointed guesthouse run by the absolutely delightful Rose, who tried her very best to ensure we had everything we needed despite having severe problems due to covid. Our room was large and spacious with a balcony overlooking the beach and mangrove, and a small kitchenette (useful as the Guesthouse doesn't provide meals for the moment).
The Guesthouse was very peaceful (just what we wanted), the views were beautiful, the local villages pretty and extremely friendly, and the 1.5 mile walk to the best beach bar/restaurant in the area, OJ's, was well worth it.
To be highly recommended for anyone who likes peace and quiet, and to be off the beaten track. An absolute gem of a place!

We absolutely loved it here! A beautiful guest house with a secluded local beach, pure paradise! We absolutely loved our stay here, with Rose being so friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return in the future. The guest house is close to Turners, Darkwood and Ffryes beach and 13 min drive to Jolly Harbour. We had a hire car and visited man places.

Coco Rose is a super special place. Cannot recommend here enough. You will definitely need to have a car, it’s about a 35 minute walk to turners beach. However there is a small little bit of beach opposite Coco Rose where we sat and enjoyed the views. This is a quiet place which is good if you want a base for travelling. We got a cab to Shirley Heights which Rose arranged for us. Excellent service, really clean and Rose is super accommodating. We will definitely be back. Thank you Coco Rose…a super special place!

This is the best place to relax. Nothing was too much trouble. We were taken to a supermarket and also taken to restaurants in the evening. Everyone was so kind and the beach opposite was tranquil. Thank you for making our stay memorable. Just what I needed after a recent illness.

No there is no pool.
The beach at Coco Rose is very shallow and not suitable for swimming but if you have a car or use the local bus there are lots of beautiful beaches close by.
