We stayed for a few days at the self-catering portion of the Addo Bush Palace. The "mud huts" were actually very lovely, with very comfortable beds and the peace and quiet in the valley was amazing. We had a few hiccups with the solar power and the plumbing - which turned out to be the fault of a troop of...

A friend and I visited Addo for a four day tour of the area, hoping to visit the Elephant Park, and one or more of the private reserves. We booked the Mud Huts at Addo Bush Palace. As advertised, they are rustic (solar lighting and solar hot water), but well furnished and appointed, with a kitchenette and staggering views of...

We arrived and our first impressions of the place was to "drive away". In fact I rang our travel agent and asked if it was possible to find us other accommodation. The grounds immediately around the main house wasn't bad however further afield the grass hadn't been cut and I'm not sure when last a weed eater had been used...

The Addo Palace Hotel is a super laid-back and quiet place to feel the vibe of africa. The manager Jonathan is a very kind and helpful person who try to make your stay as best as possible. The Estate is very clean, cosy and perfect to calm down. I can recommend this place to everyone who loves the nature.

First off, understand this lodge is off the beaten path, on it's own game reserve. If this is what you are looking for, fantastic, but don't plan on making a stop to any stores, and add travel time to all your plans going to and from. The views we fantastic here, though the mud hut we stayed in, was a...

Really enjoyed our relaxed stay in this wonderful venue.😎 Jonathan was a great host. Would have liked to see more animals, troupe of baboons on arrival, but then no real wild life. Overall excellent food and great venue.

We stayed in the mud huts and it was a lovely experience being so close to nature with only solar power to rely on.The one drawback was service, we made an arrangement to leave early, waited 40 minutes after the agreed departure time (7), to no avail and then eventually left without seeing any of the staff at a quarter...

This place is located on a quiet reserve which is good. However, their dinner portions are very small for R195/meal. For dinner, a braai will be better and much filling than theirs. The breakfast is quite sizeable The middle room in the Kudu does not have windows and becomes very hot in summer. They need to mention this when people...

This is a private reserve without any of the big 5. They do have two giraffes that are very scared of people. It is a good hideout in the middle of nowhere with hardly any animals to see. Due to the isolated location you are kind of forced to eat at their restaurant which is pretty pricey. The menu is...
