Sue and Stever were one of the most helpful hosts throughout all our time in south africa! They helped out on what to do in the area and gave tips on the Addo-Elephant Park. Also they told us how to get to our next spot on the most beautiful road and even copied a map out of their atlas.

A great pity that websites are not updated and create misleading expectations. There is no putting green where one can enjoy lawn bowls or putting. It has been gone for a lot longer than it takes to update a website. It is impossible to sit on the floating pontoon and dangle feet in the river as it is totally overgrown...

The Lodge is at the end of a dirt road in a lovely quiet spot overlooking Sunday's River. Our TomTom GPS had no trouble finding it but it's worth having the phone number with you as apparently some folks get mislaid! Our room was comfortable, airy and well-equipped and opened onto the veranda overlooking the river. Breakfast was included and...

Guaranteed to light a fire under your imagination. Fish Eagle Lodge is on the one hand easy to reach from Addo Game Park and on the other just enough tucked away to give the peace and privacy that one yearns for after a long drive or a days bush bashing in the park. Beautifully laid out with no detail spared...

This is the perfect place for those of us who prefer hands-on hosts. Sue & Steve manage to make one feel at home immediately - more like visiting friends than paying guests. Overlooking Sunday River, the rooms are clean, attractively decorated & comfortable. We had an excellent evening meal (despite Eskom's best attempts to prevent us!) & a breakfast which...

Wonderful little guesthouse right on the banks of the Sundays River in an area called Sunland, close to the Addo Elephant Park where we could hear the eagles cry along the river. Thanks Sue for an exquisite Kudu steak dinner followed by the best malva pudding and custard.. a real treat and by far the best meal I had that...

Sue and Steve gave our family a really warm welcome and could not have been more helpful or accommodating. Our rooms were extremely clean and comfortable and the setting delightful. Our evening meal with Sue and Steve was superb. Regrettably, we were only passing through the area and our stay was brief but on our next visit we shall stay...

Warm welcome from Steve and Sue. Very high standard of accommodation and superb meals. Amazing setting on banks of Sundays river with fascinating birdlife all around including eponymous fish eagles! Very conveniently situated for wildlife parks of Addo and Scotia. Golf not far away. Putting green on site. Boating on river very relaxing.

Stayed for several nights in March 2010. Sue and Steve are very welcoming and really make you feel at home. Fish Eagles Lodge is set in a very peaceful location on the Sundays River... perfect for birdwatching (yes, we did see a fish eagle!), and relaxing on the verandah, the putting green or gently rowing on the river itself. Also...
