Overall you can feel safe in the hotel.
Breakfast was ok, it was quiet low season the time we were there so i was not expecting a wide variety of choices. However not a big deal it was just good as it can get.
All the staff we interacted with were polite efficient and charming, one person stood out as world class a gentleman called Bruno who met us on arrival. In all our travels he stands out as one of the very best people we have ever met in an hotel. So well done Bruno and well done Hotel Calissano for having him on your team. Next time we wish to stay in Alba we have no hesitation to book this hotel again. Incidentally the Saturday morning street market for clothes is well worth a visit.
Bravo Hotel Calissano.
Double room 28 m2 located on the fifth floor, without balcony, predominance of wood from all furniture to parquet; equipped with almost all the comforts that a hotel of this category requires: large bed, wi-fi, luggage rack, desk, TV with national and international channels, air conditioning, safe, mini bar with good variety at fair prices; bathroom without window, large shower, small kit of products including slippers, wall-mounted hairdryer, unfortunately the hygiene guarantee band on the toilet is absent; bright room, quite comfortable bed, not the best in terms of soundproofing.
The breakfast was slightly disappointing, with a room in the basement: limited buffet, greater choice for sweets but poor choice for savory foods and fruit, also too many packaged products; nothing memorable.
Hospitality, availability and professionalism distinguish a formal but friendly staff; quick and exhaustive check-in with delivery of the badge for opening both the room and the garage, detailed responses from the reception to the various requests for information. Overall, the level of cleanliness of the room and the structure in general is satisfactory.
Two-night stay for an amount of €225; considering that breakfast and parking are included, correct price.
The rooms are comfortable, clean, and the breakfast is varied and plentiful.
Equipped with a spacious and free garage, then on the day of departure they kindly allowed us to leave our luggage and car with them so that we could visit Alba peacefully without any time problems.
Thanks again for your hospitality.
The apartment had a full kitchen with refrigerator and stove. Private bath was a nice size but a couple of comments: the shower door did not close all the way so water was always on the floor after showering; the light in the bathroom was motion sensitive and out of range of the shower, unless you waved your hands above your head. There needs to be a manual override for the light. We had a balcony but there was no furniture on it so we had to take kitchen table chairs out if we wanted to sit outside. The location was great, a 5-10 min walk to the center of old town. However, the street the hotel is on is a bit dark and off the main road. Thankfully there was always other guests walking back in the evening, but for two women walking alone, it felt a little desolate/sketchy. Breakfast in the hotel was included. The dining room that breakfast was served was pleasing and had plenty of room. There were a variety of selections for breakfast. Would stay at Calissano again if in the Piedmont region. It was easy to explore and visit other towns & go on excursions. We went on a truffle hunt and winery tour/tasting within 30 minutes of Alba. Also explored neighboring towns of La Morra & Nieve. Alba's old town was charming and we spent a few days and evenings wining & dining.
I love animals, but allowing tutors to take dogs over 40 kg into the breakfast room goes beyond common sense.
First of all, human beings need to be respected, as no one can be forced by the hotel to drink coffee with animal hair flying through the room.
See in the photo the dog waving the ass!!!
Finally, for a hotel that presents itself as a four-star is quite far away: bad pillows; breakfast salon, outside of dog hair, is almost darkening of so much noise; ridiculous gym for a four-star.
The lack of management can be observed in all locations.
