This is our 2nd time at Villa Scannagallo and it just gets better. First time we had 1 apt for a few days on B&B basis, this time we hired the whole villa with 24 friends & family incl kids to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. The owners made it very special, the family who grew up in the Villa...

This gorgeous historic villa exceeded our expectations, beautiful, atmospheric, relaxing, it has got everything you want for a Tuscan getaway. We were a party of nineteen, spread out over the various self contained apartments and joining together in a communal kitchen and large garden for eating, chilling, swimming.... The hosts, an elderly couple, speak no English, so some basic Italian...

Everything was top-notch - starting from the location, through the interiors, garden, warm and welcoming staff, perfect breakfasts on the terrace overlooking Tuscan hills. Once you've stayed at Villa Scannangallo you feel you have to come back to this place! The only challenge - you need some basic Italian communication skills to talk to the owners / staff.

This is a true jewel of Tuscany. This villa is everything we wanted for a relaxing holiday; charming hosts, beautiful views, delicious meals, and convenient to many historic/stunning sights. Our two bedroom apartment was ground level with the door opening on to the lovely garden, pool, and bbq area. The sitting room had a working fireplace that we cozied up...

This is a stunning villa with charm and beauty that exceeded our expectations. The beautifully restored home dates back to the 15th century and has a wonderful story since it has been in the same family for centuries. It is set on a spectacular piece of property...rolling hills, gorgeous trees, quaint surrounding farmland... that will take your breath away. This...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Scannagallo is an ancient villa in the Valdichiana valley of Tuscany, very near to the major cities of art: Siena, Florence, Perugiia, Cortona and Assisi. The villa is surrounded by a park of olive-trees in which there is the swimming pool. This country house is situated on a hill that is covered by olive-trees and it is right next to Marciano della Chiana. Until few years ago the villa represented the heart of a wide farm, then, a recent and accurate restoration turned it into a comfortable holiday house. ... more   less
