The usual warm welcome from the whole team at the Hotel. We were given a lovely large room on the second floor with a nice bathroom. Food and service very good. Nice nibbles provided at the bar prior to dinner. We will definitely be back next year. We book diroect with the hotel.
If you go on holiday at this hotel, be careful what they ask you to pay extra!! We booked online 5 nights half board from 27 December till 1Jjanuary. A Gala dinner is included in the package as it is half board! The owner denied the fact that we had already paid and insisted on us paying again for the dinner for the evening of 31st December !! 'It is not my fault',she said !! This service ruined our New Year's Eve experience. For the rest we are very pleased with the food, cleaning, transportation to the skipiste of Campus Smith. Unfortunately we left with a bad feeling...
Stayed for a week's skiing. We were very warmly welcomed, which continued throughout our stay. As is documented this is a family run hotel, which gives it warmth and charm. Decor dated or "traditional"? either way everything was clean and very comfortable. Owners & staff could not do enough for us. We enjoyed a 4 course dinner every evening, attended expertly by 2 waiters. I could have feasted on the hors d'oeuvres alone, such a great, tasty choice. There was a thoughtful variety in each course - meat, fish or vegetarian. Delicious, authentic Italian cuisine. Accommodation was roomy with a balcony, 2 wardrobes and plenty of shelves/cupboards. Beds comfortable and the bathroom perfect. Excellent shower with drench and body jets with limitless hot water; just what was needed after a day on the slopes. Yes it's a 15 minute walk to Campo Smith, (which was not a surprise, it was in the brochure). A good warm-up but Luigi was also happy to ferry us in the morning and collect at an agreed time if we wanted. The resort shuttle bus also stopped about 5 mins away. We didn't use the fitness room but when we arrived and were shown around, it was explained to us how it all worked. The hotel is well situated for a quick walk into town for shops, restaurants, bars etc and also the Old Town area. We had a fabulous week.…
Stopped here with 3 others lads for some fun downhill mountain biking. The family run hotel is very welcoming and we was looked after from start to finish. Everything we could have wanted for our short stay! The breakfast is fresh and plentiful, and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
Faded glory is the catchphrase, and maybe time warp! Other reviews talk of friendly owner/managers- we found the opposite. There is a synthetic warmth from the once-Parisian female owner, and the standard of service is really not worthy of the hotel’s name. Things are not arranged in order to suit the guests. The building and decor is dated, but more importantly, the owners need to get to grips with modern customer service. The spa is a joke! You have to book for it to be “switched on” And then you have to specify which facility you will be using and when. This results in cold sauna, steam room that switches off When your 2minutes is up. And it seems they charge separately for sauna and steam room/whirlpool. Evening Meals are ok, but the atmosphere is very stuffy indeed. Breakfast is rather poor. Walls are Paper thin, and I wasn’t in the mood for hearing a young Italian couple alternate between enjoying each other and argueing. If you want to go to campo smith then the grumpy Porter will drop you there if you are ready at 9am Sharp. Otherwise it’s a fair treck To the ski bus stop- a good 10 mins in ski gear (I walk fast), and 15 mins back up the hill At the day’s end. The history of The hotel is interesting, and the old owner was part of the war-time story of The place, but that’s not enough to commend it. Go elsewhere…
